The chatbox follows the same rules as the
forum, but we would like to reinforce the following:
- The Chatbox
is not a place for dating/sex
chat. It is a
place for members to just hang out and relax, talk rubbish and generally
have a bit of fun and banter. Anyone expecting a cheap alternative to the
babechannel phonelines would be better served looking elsewhere for that
satisfaction.
- No racial or
abusive comments will be tolerated.
- No personal
insults. Any offensive personal insults = zero
tolerance
- This includes being used in the form of
'greetings'
- No arguments are to be taken from the forum
or anywhere else into the chatbox.
- No arguments
are to be taken from the chatbox onto the forum.
- - The use of
Proxy's is strictly forbidden. Those found to be using one will
receive an immediate ban from the chatbox and will continue to do so until
they log in using a proper ip.
- Links to items
that breach the copyright rules of the forum are not to be exchanged, or asked for, in
the chatbox: This has been highlighted due to
the unfortunate increase of (primarily new member perhaps unfamiliar with
the rules) coming into the chatbox looking for these sort of links. If
it's not on the forum, then it's not to be found in the chatbox
either.
- No posting of
links to material that can be defined as "hardcore" without warning other
users about the content linked to. Not all members are comfortable
viewing hardcore images.
- If you are
linking to a personal image of a forum member, please seek permission
before doing so. As the copyright owner of
personal photos, the member has the right to choose where they are
displayed.
- No
Spamming
- No
advertising. The chatbox is a facility for
members to relax and pass the time in. Use of the chatbox as an
advertising space is not permitted, there is threadspace on the forum for
that purpose. Please respect this rule, as even channel operators or
presenters are not granted immunity from it.
- No
Flooding
- Whispering. Try and show some common courtesy
to fellow users and avoid 'cold whispering'. Avoid only going into the
chatbox to whisper to people, particularly those you haven't spoken to
before, as this may cause them to be uncomfortable.
Please refrain from
posting large images using the image button in the chatroom unless its
relevant and please delete them once shown as this slows down the chatroom
for people or the Mods will do it for you. We recommend you use thumbnail
images for the image button. Also Extremely graphic or violent images
should not be done this way, if you must share them, please just paste the
link or use the URL button and warn people about what
it is, so people can know what to expect! I say this as some people may be
eating or just not expecting this, or may have people in the vicinity that
can see what the user is up to, so please be considerate to other
users.
The initial default ban is ten minutes long. This gives
anyone booted long enough to calm down. Prior to being banned a user will
be warned first to allow them the chance to calm down. Any subsequent
repeated offences will be treated on a case by case basis, and if it is
felt that the user repeating the offence is doing so deliberately it may
result in a kick without warning, with the ban being a time set by the
moderator that kicks that member. As stated, the chatbox is
meant to be a fun friendly place. Not a war zone.
We ask that you treat other users
and all moderators with respect
(this includes refraining from telling or
suggesting to a mod what action they should take) – it’s
not asking much, we would like everyone to enjoy their experience on the
service and you, as an individual, can help achieve that by simply
following the guidelines for the service and the rooms you use.
Finally, if
you are leaving the chatbox for any length of time (going out, going to
bed etc) please either logout or close the chatbox down. Basic common
courtesy that just allows the other users to know who is actually in the
room.
