Winter Olympics - Sochi 2014

Skip David Murdoch pulls off a sensational last stone to seal a 6-5 win and put GB in the semis.
In an end where Norway looked in command a slight error by Norway skip Ulsrud left Murdoch with a draw for one or a multiple contact cannon on a few stones to get two.
He went for the glory shot and it paid off.
Gawd blimey .

A very comfortable win through her heat for speed-skater Elise Christie, after all her bad luck in the previous two events. Looked very strong indeed.

In the men's event there was a skater called 'Sakashita' from Japan. What a name.

Unrelated to winter olympics but here's another funny name I found :

Just saw Vanessa Mae, the violinist, on the news. She was skiing in the slalom event and finished in last place, 26 seconds behind. As they said, the insurance company must have been watching from behind their hands. She was competing for Thailand.

Whole team was cupable in that last end, they had recovered from awful start and were well in control, should never have allowed them to have a chance of getting 3 in that last end. They will all have to bring their A game to have any chance of beating Canada.

just seen the highlights on bbc cos i missed it earlier, i do hav a life sumtimes and elise christie i know it was only the heats but the change of pace to win her heat, im gobsmacked the way she just pulled away! to get further in the comp i know she will cum up against quicker opponents then the ones in her heats but i so want her to win a medal more than any1 else after whats happened to her! just hope she can beat those koreans

Apparently the 1000m is Christie's strongest event so here's hoping she can make the most of it

i hope she get something although im malicious i do have feelings lol. im just gutted what happened to her when she had silver taken away and then what happened in the 1500 .

A huge day ahead for Dave Murdoch and Eve Muirhead...... I have every faith faith they can progress to the final but they will need to be at their very best.....

This is Elise best distance..... I think this time she will medal.... Hopefully gold .....
