I don't agree that the Australian score was high. A total of 270 always looked on the low side to me, as the batting conditions seemed better than last time when Australia's 305 wasn't enough. I would have been surprised if England couldn't chase 270 down in good batting conditions and in the end they did it with 5.4 overs to spare, finishing on 274/6.

I'm not sure. I don't think Australia's scores have been too bad myself. Perhaps it's England's stellar batting performances which are making Australia's totals look inadequate?

Australia finish on 286/6 and England win by 16 runs.

Australia actually contained England quite well until the last 13 overs when England added 120. In comparison Australia only managed 82 from the last 13 overs of their innings.

England were reduced to the carnage of 8/5 in the 4th ODI, after being asked to bat first. To England's credit, they still managed to make a match of it, with Australia only getting home by 3 wickets.

Yes for a match that appeared over inside the first 10 overs, Australia's first win of the series did not come easily.
