Yes agree we should be supporting the England team, I did not thing MV's comments were very helpful. Warne is doing a good job of slagging England off and does not need any help!

Broad picked up a wicket first ball of the day and Finn moped up the tail to finish with 5 wickets as the Aussies were all out for 304. England finished 302/5 with Cook, Trott and KP all making half centuries.

Maybe Finn staking a late claim for the 3rd seamer spot.Rankin is just too raw for me & hasn't even got a good first class county record, although he impressed in the ODI's for England.Tremlett will keep the runs down but will he take the wickets that the less economical Finn will provide,Tremlett's pace is way down.A fir Bresnan would walk into this side.

^ Yes shame about Bressie who would have given more variety and also added a bit to the batting as well.

England finished on 418 all out Root 75 and Bairstow 48. Aussies currently 123/2 Finch 59 with wickets for Broad and Swan. Finn 0-45 from just 7 overs! Update 137/3 Finn 1-54.

England won their last warm game by 7 wickets scoring 151/3 Crabs 50, Trott 38* Bell 33* so all the batsmen have got a few runs in this game. The Aussie XI were bowled out for 261. I heard that Broad bowl well taking 2-32 in 16 overs. Swann picked up a couple of wickets as well. The main questions remains who will be the third seemer. Although Finn got 3 wickets again for 88 runs from 20 overs seems a tad expensive whilst Rankins 3-46 from 21 would appeared to be more controlled. Tremlett who did not play in this game appears to be the choice for some, probably based on how well he played on his last trip down under. I hate to hark on about it by lets hope the decision not to have included Onions in the party could come back and bite them. Hopefully Prior will be fit but they may not be determined to possibly the eve of the game.

Aussie Capt. Clarke thinks he is being clever by announcing the England team this morning. In reality as has been debated here nine were shoe ins. Clarke seems to think Prior will be fit and says Tremlett will be the third seem bowler. England bowling coach Saker has already hinted that he expected Prior to be fit and they had made their choice in the bowling so hardly a revelation! Interestingly Saker also mention that Bressie should be fit for 2nd test and should play in the next warm up game. Perhaps Clarke would be better worrying about his own team.

Clarke is playing psychological games.
England need to ignore all that nonsense as they have done so far and not get drawn into it.
There is a job to be done.
England need to be ruthless, calculating, clinical and focussed from ball one.
Clarke can talk and talk all he likes.
England need to let their cricket do their talking for them.

That's good, England need Bresnan. He takes a decent amount of wickets and keeps the runs down too, not to mention that he can also score important runs.

I still keep wondering why Onions is not in the Ashes squad.
For me his county form last season merited a place.
