Yeah everyone buys electric cars and the lights out as everyone panic charges when the grid cant handle it

electric cars will only become viable if they convert all the petrol stations to charging stations

That would be great but like you say mate the National grid won't handle it what happens when electricity runs out?

Apparently the DVLA (the responsibility of one Grant Shapps ) is sitting on 40,000 unprocessed HGV licence applications.

Maybe they should've issued visas for 5,000 admin staff instead.

I read that the National Grid is prepared to scale up once the demand in electric cars kicks in. Also apparently most charging takes place overnight when demand is very low and rates are at their most attractive.

I have one on order to be honest and quite frankly all this bollocks has totally vindicated my decision.

How are you supposed to panic buy bog rolls when you can't panic buy petrol to get to the supermarket to buy the aforementioned bog rolls ?

The National Grid (the High Voltage Transmission Network) isn't the problem. The cables from the local Sub Stations that run down the street and into your house are a different matter entirely. When we reach the point where every house has at least 1 X Charger running every night at 30-50 amps there will be fun & games.

Still, at least the heat from the cables will melt the snow & ice in Winter

I assume you are including every who will have a charger running overnight for their electric bikes and scooters as well as there will be some
who will not be able to drive cars.

We'll be panic buyine electric cars, then panic charging our electric cables for electric cars before too long that will force the utility companies to lower electric prices then having once reached the the supermarket, aforementioned supermarkets will raise the price of bog rolls to a such a silly price so that we'll all be only be able to afford 1 aforementioned bog roll a week per person!!

Having said that those who are still hoarding bog rolls from last time will have a hard time selling their excess off back to the supermarkets to cover demand

bet hallf were from European drivers who fucked off home when they realised nothing was happening to the application.

AS far as I am concerned, Grant Shapps agenda is first get us to stop driving petrol cars then he'll be stopping us driving electric cars and gettting us all using public transport which frankly will be next hit by a driver shoretage as there aren't enough train drivers or bus drivers.
Then what?

The Media press need to come up with one juicy story that is big and juicy enough to topple this government for good.
