3 Mobile Broadband.
Great for a couple of months, then they press the "slow" button.
Apparantly they are the only network to have their customer services based in Mumbai, India. The others are all in the U.K.
Upon E-Mailing them to say that my speed had dropped to a snail's pace, and kept randomly losing connection I recieved a call from them....
A difficult call, as the guy's English was rather broken, but he basically said my nearest mast was under maintenance, but would be ok again in a few days - 2 weeks max.
3 weeks and another call later and my speed is now very bad (averaging 100 kb/ps) and it's almost impossible to watch webshows or videos. Doing screen-caps when the picture keeps pausing every 5 seconds is very tricky!
But - It's not 3's fault, it's my laptop, or my dongle, or the weather. Or perhaps my cats? Or because I have freeview?
3 are the only network that "throttle" speeds between 6pm and 12am (although I suspect it's all day)
They have the cheapest pay/go tariffs. Guess why?
The network is over-subscribed, and they're in no hurry to put more masts up.
I downloaded something earlier. When it started, the download speed was 198kb/ps, but straight away dropped to 13kb/ps. That would be 3, throttling my speed again.
I'm sick of it now. So "3" - Welcome to room 101.
