RE: Andy Murray
Maybe Murray should have done what Ivan Lendl did in his playing days and knock the opponent out with the tennis ball

I'm waiting for Scottishbloke to burst back into the thread and explain to us why Ofcom was to blame for Murray's defeat. Smile

RE: Andy Murray
Federer tired Murray out with the way he was placing the ball, making Murray run around. He looked shattered going into the 3rd set.

Thing is, Murrays always got an obstacle in his way. At the Australian and US opens he has Djokovic, at the French Nadal and on Grass Federer. I still think his best chance of a major is on the hard courts.

RE: Andy Murray
I have said it before elsewhere and I will say it yet again here - Murray WILL win a Grand Slam. To see Murray shed a tear as he did his runner's up speech confirmed to me that he gave his all in that match and that he is more than capable of winning Wimbledon. He was gracious in defeat and to lose to the GOAT is nothing to be ashamed of.

Put your money on him winning the US and winning a medal at the Olympics (hopefully two - Andy and Jamie are playing doubles)

If you have the Greatest Player to have ever played the sport telling you that you'll win multiple Grand Slams you have to be doing something right.

Federer's dominance of the sport is coming to it's inevitable end - he's now North of 30 and outside of Wimbledon I can't see him getting to many more GS Finals.

I don't think that was Murray looking shattered, perhaps more rattled than anything else, he's one of the fittest guys on the tour.

Djokovic looked like himself from pre-2010 in that Semi against Federer so perhaps Djokovic's period as the beast has come to an end?

RE: Andy Murray
Yes some people said he had no personality maybe that had something to do with the stupid questions he was constantly being asked. I mean the English banging on about something that happened 74 years ago, back in that era tennis was hardly at the same level it is now so the best thing Murray said when asked about that one was "How should I know I wasn't even born then" Big Laugh

Which has allready been pointed out by many people in the media is the unfortunate thing for Murray is that he is in an era of arguably the greatest tennis player of alltime in the name of Roger Federer who I'd just like to say is a true gentlemen, a fierce competitor on the field but he was very complementary of Andy Murray and way he played yesterday. As a scotsman I know how it feels to be glorious losers so I'm hoping that Murray changes this statistic and finally delivers us a grande slam Cool

If you watch the 3rd set onwards, Murray looked gone. He was grimacing, his face bright red, out of breath. It's not because Murray's unfit, it's Federer knew if he kept him on the run he'd get tired. Good tactic by Federer because he knew he couldn't get involved in a runaround with a younger competitor. Those tactics wouldn't have worked against Nadal because that guys like a machine.

As for Murray winning a slam. I don't know, the more he keeps losing in finals the more his self-belief may crumble. And he's 25, if he doesn't win one in the next 3 years I don't think he'll ever win one, as they'll be younger guys coming through. But to win one in the next 3 years he'll be up against the big 3. He's unfortunate to be playing in the era of Federer/Nadal, possibly the two greatest ever, and Djokovic, who if he was playing 15 years ago, would be second only to Sampras.
