Shirley MacLaine - Talking Pictures
This strand culls clips from interviews and tends to run 30-45 minutes depending on the star. This one ran only 20, taken from just 3 chats. I find it unlikely (or begging the question) that she wasn't interviewed at any other time (even by Barry Norman). Even her chat with Wogan crams in 2 film clips to pad it out.

9 - Melton Mowbray
Adam enjoys a good pork pie, followed by boiled sweets. Then he drifts off to Leicester for a sort of chicken curry, then a macaroni & red leicester cheese doughnut (I've never eaten macaroni, but red leicester is a top cheese choice).

10 - Scone
Adam returns to Scawtland to try tattie scones & a "Full Scawtish", haggis-neaps-n-tatties, a sausage casserole and shortbread for afters. Yet despite being in Perth, he didn't bother with Dundee cake.

An entertaining series overall, hopefully he'll have enough viewers to justify a 2nd series. He turns 50 tomorrow, apparently Cool

Agree. I really enjoyed this & hope there is a 2nd series Smile

The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart
Back on his usual night, he took a pause from the Trump trial to look into the blatant stupidity of the Senator Bob Menendez trial instead.

From the Preston bypass in 1958, through life for lorry drivers, the uniformity of signage, development of service stations, and the future with autonomous cars.
Maps of Britain - Canals
Back to 1760 for the start of this story, but otherwise much the same antic about why people built them, padded out with bits on tunnels, aqueducts, legging, and more recently their resurgence through the leisure lark.

2.1 That London - Peregrine Falcon
Jim tells us that Peregrine derives from it being a wanderer, a fact he mentions half a dozen times. Nancy gets to grab a kingfisher when they visit Walthamstow Wetlands. They finish off at Battersea Power Station with Justin Hawkins.
PB w/J&NM
2.2 Derbyshire - Dipper
Though Jim gets to paint with actor Nitin Ganatra, he takes Nancy to Chatsworth House, where they make a clay model of a dipper. They also look at ring ouzels at Standage Edge, since they're of a similar feather to the dipper.

The Sky at Night - Hiding in Starlight
Starting with last month's big eclipse, then trips to look at new satellite things and so on.

HARDtalk: Eddie Marsan
How he had to make telly in America to circumvent the class battles in the UK, and how he drifted into acting after being picked as an extra. And why he disagrees with those who think acting roles should be restricted to those with specific personal experience.
