Have I missed something? When did Paige and Amanda feature on the same night?
I think we really must get away from seeing the taming of the night girls as resulting from the introduction of the day girls.
Amanda has been putting in very tame performances recently (on Freeview), just as all the other night girls have, but this isn't caused by the day girls' introduction. I think it's rather that the two things both derive form the same cause.
MrGrumpyPants is quite right to say look behind the cameras. I think that Cellcast have decided that BS1 (at least during Freeview hours) should be a much tamer show than previously. This has enabled them to bring in the day girls knowing that there won't be such a great difference between them, with their clothes on all of the time, and the night girls, most of whom now keep their clothes on all the time but occasionally reveal one or both breasts.
Cause and effect are the other way round - it's the taming of the show that has resulted in the introduction of the day girls, not vice versa.
Edit: Picture problems.
I was going to post this in the Ch33 display thread but it doesn't seem to belong there as that is concerned with correcting things from the Cellcast end rather than problems with equipment at the receivng end.
I've noticed something really bizarre when I play back my recordings of the last two nights. For those of you who don't already know, I don't have PVR or DVD recorder but record to VHS via a Freeview box. For the last two nights, for reasons known only to the strange alien brains in charge at Cellcast at the moment, the roving close-up camera has been set to 4:3 aspect ratio. I posted in the forum about it on Friday night and PMed Moderation Station at the same time but it was still the same last night.
During the live broadcast the picture on my tv screen remains in 16:9 with a grotesquely stretched image when the roving camera is switched through. The bizarre bit is that when I play back my recording my tv screen switches to 4:3 for these moments then back to 16:9 when the main cameras come back on.
Can any techie explain that?
