Haven't a clue at the moment. I can only assume it'll move to Channel 98 or something.

That item is a bit confusing.

Quote:Every UK home with a Freeview TV or box (including BT Vision and Top Up TV recorders) will need to re-tune on Wednesday 30th September.
Quote:Top Up TV will no longer be broadcasting their Anytime channels on the Freeview Channel service.

The published channel list which will be effective on Freeview from 30 September makes no mention of TopUp TV despite the fact that it only exists (afaik) as an adjunct to Freeview. Does this mean TopUp TV will cease to exist and, if so, why are they continuing to advertise (and presumably sell) their service?

Television X used to be available on Freeview only via TopUp TV (although it no longer seems to be mentioned on their web site). Has that situation changed?

TelevisionX has nothing to with TopUp TV.
I have a TopUp TV Thomson PVR although I dont use the TopUp TV service. TopUp TV downloads selected non freeview programs from the G.O.L.D and SciFi channels etc., during the night, which can be viewed later but it has to be paid for.
TelevisionX still has the 5 minute previews at 11pm and midnight which are free to watch on freeview. You have to pay by credit card to obtain the pin to view the full program.

Out of curiosity, when did Television X cease to be part of the TopUp TV service?

I've had my Thomson Topup TV PVR for almost 2 years and its never been offered on that.
Its always been pin entry as far as I can remember on freeview, but if there was a card that you could buy which fitted some freeview boxes to give access to TVX, it might have been called a Top Up card, but I dont think it had anything to do with the trademarked Topup TV which we have now.
I got my first freeview box over 5 years ago but it never had a card slot.

RE: Freeview channel changes
The card you refer to was the original way to obtain TopUp TV!

I subscribed when it first launched and the only reason I did was because Television X was available for an extra monthly fee. I quit when my card stopped working and TopUp TV failed to re-activate it.

In passing, a word of warning for anyone thinking of subscribing to TopUp TV: giving them the authority to take payments from your bank account is dead easy. Stopping them doing so is another matter entirely.
