WTF!

Every time I change channel to 911 on my Sky box it crashes.

Apologies for what would seem to be a technical question but it seems so odd I just have to ask whether anyone else suffering from the same problem?

All other channels are ok so it would appear to be a problem with the specific channel.

The banner displays for the chaneel then nothing (blue background) for a couple of seconds and then 'bing' the box switches off and goes through a reset.

Don't worry, I have a black screen & it's done it to me twice. All started at 10pm tonight too.

Few!

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I just hope that 911 isn't the chaneel with the best action tonight, at least until the problem (whatever it is) is sorted anyway.

Cheers,

Dizzy

I think Emily Dean was on up to 10pm so not sure who was on next. Pity it crashed as I lost a recording due to the reboot, so I would say not to go on the channel if you are recording something until we can confirm it's working again. Just checked the web stream & it's just the Elite logo for the time being. My Sky box is stuck on 911 now so a reboot everytime..Grrrr.

Okay, update is it's back working on my box on 911. It is just the Elite logo but my box has stopped crashing. Infact, Delta has just appeared on screen.Smile

If It Happnes Again...
Follow Main Instructions:

1) Switch Off Sky [Main Plug]
2) Wait 1 - 2 Min
3) Switch On, Load & Enjoy!

As thick as you like them and built with ridges deep enough
to carry the maximum load of our unique full on flavours!

Thanks for the advice but it wouldn't have helped.

When a Sky box reboots\resets it does the same load process as powering it off at the mains and back on again. The only difference with the 1-2 minute wait is that the LMB (Low Noise Block) unit on the front of the dish is allowed to fully power down (the actual sat cable can hold a residual charge for a while).

You only need power off ffor 1-2 minutes if you have no signal (no channels at all) or no signal lock indicated in the signal status display of the sky box's maintenance menus.

I mention all that not as a put down or 'thanks, but not thanks' comment but rather to let potential readers know that the 1-2 minute wait that always seems to get mentioned in reset instructions is rarely neccesary.

Cheers and thanks again,

Dizzy
