The facts of the matter regarding Mirandafan123.

After some unusual posts and very strange PM's, I've decide to break with forum etiquette and post some PM's publicly. I spent last night asking other members if they'd had any communication with Mirandafan123 and I'll be posting those quoted messages here and hoping that someone might recognize him from another forum and can tell me what the hell is going on and more importantly, if everything is, well... normal. The conclusions I'm able to draw from the various messages are... unsettling. These PM's are collated into roughly the timeline for which they were sent.

I replied with a quick message saying basically "What? I don't know the channel or presenter you mentioned", but the message was bounced back, as Mirandafan123 had his messages turned off. The public conversation that ensued from there is a matter of forum record. However after turning his messages back on, there were some further communications, including some I've been able to gather from the rest of the Forum Team and some other members I know fairly well, as well as my own.

I don't know who your talking about, mate. The only Nuaghty talk channel I know of was on air ages back, but isn't any more. My archive doesn't go back that far.

Look mate, I have a hard enough time recording capping and posting real clips, without looking for channels that aren't there. I cant record something that doesn't exist, can I?

During this time, our Supermod was involved in a protracted exchange of PM's that he found somewhat vexing, to say the least. I've condensed some very repetitive (and somewhat whiny, from Mirandafan123's side) PM's to the final exchange, which gives the essence of the entire conversation perfectly.

I promise you, no-one is taking the piss out of you. If you look at the thread, you'll see that people are genuinely trying to help you (and ourselves) out by figuring out which channel you've been watching and which presenter you've been chatting to.

Sure, some of the replies have been a little bit sarcastic, but not in a bad natured way and I assure you, that's just normal behaviour for this particular forum. We place a lot of value on banter and having a laugh here, so long as no-one is being insulted by what's being posted.

There's no wind up, no hazing and no initiation or anything going on. Just a number of people who want to help being baffled by what they're reading.

We'll get to the bottom of it, one way or another.

Unhappily, since my account is the one used for the automated greeting sent out to new members Mirandafan's message to me was swamped by others from new members saying "thanks for the welcome" and I made this post before I got the chance to read it. By the time I noticed Mirandafan had responded on the "Message for Mirandafan123" thread, he was offline and my PM's were blocked by him, for the perceived insult in the post I linked to.

I wrote a reply anyway, hoping it would reach him if he unblocked my name from the ignore user list. This is it.

I am starting to feel very lonely do tou think he will let me borrow his tv.

I have seen a number of trolls and a number of hoaxes on forums over the years. But I just can't decide if mirandafan is on a piss take, or perhaps he is a little unwell.

I don't recognise the posting style from another forum. But since "the other" forum closed down a few days ago, then perhaps it is someone from there trying to have a laugh at the expense of this forum.

If miranda fan does read this, then this truly isn't a case of the members here hazing you. Sorry you have been unwell, perhaps you have taken some medication that has left you feeling a little confused?

I think someone has pulled off a quite brilliant Halloween stunt! Either 'Calvin', Hotel Voyeur or Mr Gummidge himself.

When I read the first few posts of this thread I thought I was witnessing someone having a nervous breakdown, or worse. But the baobhan reference, and the reference to being torn with fingernails etc gave it all away.

The perpetrator of this stunt has used the forum to build up the story very cleverly. Personally I'd have revealed the climax tonight, but nevertheless, well done.

If the hoax was carried out by someone at HV and they have a model called Miranda on tonight, that would be even better!
