RE: Playable Game Demo's
Downloaded a demo of the game Split Second, so far am loving the game. Reminds me of the early days of burnout which i used to be a big fan till the previous burnout games and i lost interest in them. There's a good sense of speed in the game, the controls are nice tight and you always feel you have full control of the car. The graphics are are amazing especially if your playing it via a HDTV. The game to me comes across between burnout and the film Death Race. You can blow up scenery to take out rival cars or create new short cuts. Any out there thats a big fan of either the burnout and ridge racer series to try this game out, the demo is out on both the PS3 and 360.

RE: Playable Game Demo's
I only pointed out this game demo as it was the only demo that was out to download and play. I have no idea if there is a demo of it as i haven't seen it PS3 and i don't have a 360. At this early stage it seems better burnout but until the final product of both games are out it's little unfair at the moment to judge which one is better then the other until both products are finished and can be compared. If i had access to both games i would have said which one i prefer at this early stage, if people have then let me know on what there like. I think if they can should try out both demos and see what they think as said i would love to do that myself but i don't have both demo's.

RE: Playable Game Demo's
Didn't say it wasn't fair to compare them as there both racing games all am saying is that isn't fair to pass judgement until the final product of both games are out, First impression of split second for me were good, but it was only one track, one car, for all i know the final game could have problems like being too short, too easy etc etc, same could be said about blur which does look very impressive from what i heard the demo was only a multi- player only which is a little harder to judge. All am saying is that they should be judged on there final code, there's nothing wrong with having a first impression on game as i said only played one of them and even if i had played both i would reserve judgement till the final game

yea but its not like either demo will change dramatically from now until release, i was comparing them based on gameplay, simple as. multiplayer or not, they're driving games, so that don't matter. i gave my opinion that i thought blur was better than split/second and you went on to waffle about only demo's yada yada yada, thought the thread was to talk about demos and share our opinions, not just yours.....

i have just noticed that every time kalel posts something on certain threads a few folk are always having a dig at him. i might be wrong and if i am i apologize, but i think this is bad stuff, especially as kalel is a very well respected member of this forum.

RE: Playable Game Demo's
actually in some cases playable demo's can change dramatically and the finished game might disappoint you no matter how much you liked the demo. one example of this is metroid prime hunters. back when the ds first came out it came with a playable demo of metroid prime hunters and in my opinion it was fantastic. it had metroids, space pirates, dark samus and the classic metroid soundtrack but when the finished game came out all of that stuff was gone. what's even worse is that the gameplay felt different to most metroid games because it was quite linear and you had to fight the same bosses over and over again. i was very disappointed with that game (although the multiplayer is quite good) and i think it just goes to show that no matter how good a demo is you should really reserve judgement until the finished version comes out.

well i was basing it on my experiences with demos, if what you say is the case, then its probably just a small percentage that must significantly change.

anyway, my point is still valid and stands, that i can compare gameplay on the 2 demos without having someone trying to negate my opinion....

well you are wrong in my case, i was just not happy that he was trying to negate my opinion on which is better based on demos, since this is a demo thread to talk about demos, not full games... plus aren't all people equal in regards to their opinion on here? or do some people get special treatment?
