Almost Famous
Now bear with me on this one as it might sound wrong but actualy is a good topic lol
Listening to one of my favourite radio shows today The Miserable Men Show and they were discussing Pop,Rock,Dance whatever singers and groups that if they had died young would have been remembered as releasing great music and not for the crap they have released in these later years.

A few examples that were named are U2, Axel Rose/Guns N Roses,Eric Clapton,Whitney Houston and Bon Jovi.

So simple question, who in your opinion would have been remembered for great music at one point if they had died young and not remembered for the crap they release these days?

I'd have to say Paul McCartney

What about you?

Hmm, i'd have to agree with you there about Sir Paul. Not a fan of his non-Beatles work at all.

Not sure why that radio show listed EC - the man's a legend! Love all his different styles. Not sure why Bon Jovi even got a mention, it's not like he was great at any point...

For me, i'd say Michael Jackson, his early stuff just can't be beaten.

Yeah, but i couldnt' actually think of many more...any ideas?

The problem is that by dying, it immortalizes the music they've already released. Thus for people like Jeff Buckley and Kurt Cobain, the music they made before they died carries an extra sentiment because it's all there is of them, there are no follow-up albums that taint them.

i think that Jimi would probably not have released much more, just toured and lived in a massive castle somewhere in the sky. Not sure KC would have done - it's hard to imagine him as anything but dead if that makes any sense?
