yes they should issue you with a warning but realy its a phising scam, the chances are that they have uploaded the file or know the uploader and phish yer ip to send demands to yer isp. the very fact that they have your ip and know what you have downloaded is against your privacey rights under the data protection act. in the uk your ip can be classed as private data and needs a court order to obtain info from it, they have obtained data then got the court order, ie they have tapped your internet illegaly

basicaly what this german company is doing is illegal from what i can find,. as they cant realy tell who has downloaded what with any certanty. if you get 1 of these letters just tell them you have a wirless connection and it may have been hijacked, they cant prove anything that way.

i just got a letter today from some debt collecting agency and apparently it said that i owe 30 pounds to some company called portland enterprises ltd. when i googled that company's name i found the name television x associated with that company. so i guess that the report from the bbc was true. has anyone else recieved a letter like this?

Does it not state in the letter exactly why you are said to owe this money?

no, to be honest when i first saw the letter i was like "what the fuck?!" because i'd never heard of portland enterprises and didn't understand why i owed them money. when i googled the company's name i found out it was associated with television x and then i saw the link which said that ofcom was fining them 25,000 pounds for breaking some pointless rules. even though it doesn't state in the letter why i'm said to owe them money, this whole thing with ofcom must be the reason why i have to pay them because the timing is too similar and i can't think of any other reason why i'd owe them money. if this is true then everybody who's ever ordered television x should recieve a letter soon.

They cut the channel 97 free preview at 11pm down from 10mins to 5mins some time ago and it is not as good as it used to be. Maybe this is because of the fine. Never watch it now.
As for Rule 1.24, after many attempts I never ever managed to guess the 4 digit pin number so what was the problem there?
As for Rule 1.25, I thought "adult-sex" material was R18 anyway.
