Nudity Sport Channel XXX
The last 3 times Serena has been on she has been nude clearly showing pubic hair. Is the rules different if you have pubic hair down below as I have noticed on regular TV that ladies bits are obscured if they are hairless down there but not if they have hair down there.

Guessing that would be discriminating to those that don't have hair, but seeming as they shave, they can still show that area... classically called "Gunt" by Marcus Brigstocke.

But Off-rocker would probably find something to frown upon: what's IanG's guess?

maybe its to do with what the hair covers. serena keeps her legs closed as not to show the 'underneath' bit but as you say, on normal tv shaved bits are blurred and i think its because when its shaved you see a slit if that makes any sense

Down there obscured on "regular TV"? We must be watching different channels, I've never seen the coal celler in Last Of The Summer Wine. Please do tell which channels and shows/times. If you mean the likes of Movies24 and MoviesForMen I have never seen any blurring or pixellation. They usually cut the naughty bits, but there are a few seconds of non-close up slit from time to time. A lot of these films are either very old 1970s Brit-porn, old cert 18 from before the razor had been invented and even going topless was considered strong sexual content, or 1980s USA softcore.

Regular actresses might also be reluctant to shave. It shows more than they might be comfortable with, and they might imagine that "nice girls" don't, particularly if they have spent the past 5 years turning down lap dancing jobs.

Yes, the rules is different. Non-sex channels have to pretend to have a plot-reason for nudity and expilict content, and arguably anything that goes beyon the minimum necessary to establish the plot-point is not "editorially justified". Showing a naked woman entering a room in long-shot and briefly sitting on a man is just about OK to establish that they are more than friends. Showing her straddling him and being penetrated in detail for 5 minutes might go beyond the minimum.

Personally I'm waiting for a Ken Russell feature showing the collapse of a marriage as a man gets drawn into the world of full-contact lap dancing and starts an affair with his secretary who gives anal sex, but who is torn because his wife will do oral. Crucial plot points you see.

Babe channels CAN show pubes. There has never been a mention of it in Ofcom rules, guidance or bulletins. What Ofcom doesn't like is labia. Or anal detail. You can hardly ban pubes when half the grannies on Scarborough beach have half a shrubbery poking out.

I love Muffin, Muffin-the-Mule.

the best example i can think of is when eurotrash was on channel 4 years ago i noticed they pixelated shaved ones and let them show pubes.

Curious that really, they don't seem to have the same problem with the male genitals. If you watch things like the already mentioned Eurotrash or either of the Sex(..) shows on Virgin1 for example, you'll never see a penis blurred out... perhaps Ofcom are a just bunch of latent homosexuals? In fact those programmes can show more than the Babe channels and at an earlier time, you may occasionally see an unblurred 'groove' but any sight of lips is still a no no.

thats something to do with it being ok to show cock aslong as it isnt erect or semi erect.

Yes, but why do they deem the sight of a non-aroused cock acceptable but not labia(?). In fact that just adds to the mystery as to why lips cannot be shown, aside from a detailed closeup (or small puddle) you can't really confirm any sign of arousal from the labia - but then maybe that's why they don't allow it to be shown, "you can't tell if the woman is aroused or not, so best not to show it at all just in case" - Ofcom have obviously not yet developed the 'sliding pink scale of arousal'.

It all comes back to arousal though, nudity = arousal = sex, and sex is wrong wrong wrong. I can see programmes that are designed to make me laugh, make me cry, educate me, entertain me, scare me; so why not also arouse me(?). Europe has far more sexualised content on tv than the UK, but then I guess our far lower teenage pregnancy rate shows how Ofcom are justifed in their censoring, oh no, hang on...
