"An Italian maths professor was escorted of an American Airlines flight after a fellow passenger feared his mysterious scribbling on a notepad was evidence that he was a terrorist. Maybe it was code, or some foreign lettering, possibly the details of a plot to destroy the dozens of innocent lives aboard the plane.

In fact Guido Menzio was working on an equation, but the sight of him scrawling odd symbols on a notepad was enough to alarm the woman who was sitting next to him on the flight from Philadelphia to Syracuse and she passed a note to a member of the cabin crew. Professor Menzio was asked to come to the front of the aircraft.

'They told me that the woman was concerned that I was a terrorist because I was writing strange things on a pad of paper.' He succeeded in convincing the authorities that his doodles were an equation and he was allowed to continue on the flight, which left two hours late, without the woman whose suspicions caused the delay."

But to stop dogs from fouling they also plan to take the DNA of all the dogs .
