I am never ceased to be amazed at how long it takes from transmission of the programme to a complaint being received. I am aware that the post is slow but this is unbelievable. When a complaint takes over a month to be made just how shocked/offended is that person and should Ofcom take this into account when making a decision. Also the number of complaints made on the same day, it realy beggars belief that these are not organised by some group who wish to see the end of such programs. Ofcom should look at their own information and stop over regulating following such complaints rather than appeasing such organisations.

it certainly seems that way,you would think ofcom would see a pattern forming here but they won,t.
they seem very trusting but for all the wrong reasons.
and thanks the info gold plated.

As ive said before why do these idiots who complain watch the friggin channels in the first place when thay know the content im just so frustrated at the merrygoround of idiotic complainers then the long drawn out process from ofcon receiving a complaint until the outcome as gold plated has kindly pointed out in his extensive post.
I think its time for this forum and its members to draw up a petition and get many signatures and send it to this excuse of an organisation ofcon.Something needs to be done and real soon otherwise pandering to the stupid views of idiots who watch then claim to be offended will become the norm and what a sad day that will be for all babechannel fans.annoyedannoyedannoyed

It will be very interesting to see how many complaints BLUBIRD will get when they start, especially if conspiracy theories are right about other channels making these complaints.Lets face it blubird have so much money and channels, they can blow all of the competition out of the water and this could have the other channels waiting for any mistake they make, after all there's jobs and money at stake. It will be interesting to see future ofcom reports in the forth coming months.

RE: Ofcom - Current Investigations
tbh if ofcom see a pattern with the complaints, ie who they came from and dont consider the complaint valid then they should start to ignore the person complaining, there must be a pattern if all these are towards bangmedia, and im guessing that alot of these dont hold up, or having so many complaints would cost bangmedia a lot of money, or it could mean that they dont give a hoots ( refrained from using more explicit language hehe ) and the money they are earning from having these channels is more than sufficent to balance out a few fines.

RE: Ofcom - Current Investigations
There is every reason to suppose that OfCom asks/pays "spies" to check on these programmes and there is good reason to suppose that the channels check on each other.

More often than not the action taken is the result of ONE (yes ONE) complaint.

If OfCom really thinks that individuals are watching these channels night after night just in order to be outraged, then I suggest respectfully to OfCom that, rather than taking action based on a nipple slip at 0800 (which we all know leads to irreversible and uncontrolled depravity for anyone under the age of 18), they might do more for the public good by investigating the mental health of the one complainant.

In any case, as a grown adult not demanding hardcore porn, I object strobgly to the right-wing (often religious) view: "We don't like it therefore you shouldn't be allowed to see it".

yep have spotted this as well. does annoy me that ofcom uphold complaints even though there is only 1 complaint!!!!!! hopefully a change of government means a change for ofcom

Babestation is registered in Holland and not subject to the Ofcom broadcasting code.

(Please feel free to correct this if it is not true)
