US TV Shows - Discussion (Inc New Shows/Cancellations)

NBC are notorious for cutting shows so could only be back for a few shows

It's 13 episodes, so if they only get that, they can at least give it a conclusion.

Now we just need somebody to pick up Lucifer (even if it's for just one season), it was badly promoted by Fox, so would do better if another network got hold of it and advertised it correctly.

If it's true that these cancellations are down to a deal with the NFL, then fuck those guys. Oh and if the rumours are true, Lethal Weapon will be replacing Clayne if renewed, so it's possibly the end for them too if the casting doesn't work. You can have somebody playing their own version of Riggs (like Clayne did and he made it his own imo), but if another actor tries to copy his portrayal, well that will be shit.

Lucifer, lethal weapon, gotham and one other show are owned wb tv so fox have to pay for them where as the other shows they have are in house. nfl tv rights are costing fox $550m a year so the quickest and easiest way for them to save money is to cancel the licence to show Lucifer, lethal weapon and gotham (if fox decide not to renew the licence). rumour is that if wb tv cannot find a replacement for Crawford then fox will cancel it and renew gotham however if wb tv do find a replacement that can work than fox with cancel gotham, i hope wb tv get another channel or streaming service to show gotham as this season it has been pretty good. starz had two actors (andy whitfield, Spartacus was his big break and liam McIntyre) play Spartacus and they both did they own and were they were great and they show went from strength to strength despite the change of lead actor

elementary, criminal minds and blacklist are renewed, elementary was the surprising one as season 6 was originally going to be 13to 15 eps which could be indicator that that the show was not getting a 7th season but cbs then extended the show to a full 22 to 24 episode season. criminal minds tend to get renewed mid to late may as cbs have to negotiate with abc studios on the cost for the new season.

The Magnum P.I reboot has been given a full season order.

Lethal Weapon renewed for season 3

Unfortunately they've added Seann William Scott, so that's the show done for me, fucking muppets.

^^^ the problem is the original was warned twice about his behaviour replacing with the total new guy is gonna change show and chemistry between the actor. They would have been better off not renewing the show.

Totally agree. The thing is, is he made it work, more so than Damon, so without him (despite the issues), I hope it fails.

Forgot to add, so yeah supposedly Seann will be a new character, not Martin Riggs, therefor it is no longer Lethal Weapon and should be avoided imo.

Doesn’t matter the thing is with any show is no actor is bigger then show, even if it’s lead actor what they supposed to do well the actor is the show so they can do what ever they want. I could understand if he did it once and said sorry but it happened again none of us no how bad it actually was. Unfortunately his out of a job and dynamic of the show will change.
I heard part of deal of renewing the show for season 3 was he had to be replaced as I said maybe would have been to not renew it.
