The Foreigner (2017)

Jackie Chan & Pierce Brosnan in what should be a fairly standard little man takes revenge on Terrorists caper, but it's actually an enjoyable way to waste a couple of hours rather than suffer Christmas TV.

Currently on Netflix. 7.5/10

Assassins Creed 2/10 - one of the worst films i have seen this year, an a-list cast which includes Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard are completely wasted in this mess. Historically inaccurate with a ludicrous plot it has very few redeeming features, one or two decent fight scenes but only average CGI. It might have helped if i had played the game the film is based on, but i doubt it.

Krampus (2016);

There's always been a big debate over what the best Christmas movie ever,Home Alone 1 or 2,Scrooge, Die Hard,Gremlins (it was set over Christmas),Mickey's Christmas Carol (ok I'm running out of ideas) etc but Krampus is an ideal film to watch that'll ensure the children will be on best behavior around Christmas.
For anyone unfamiliar with Krampus folklore has always described him as being half goat & half-demon who is said to visit all the naughty children on Christmas Eve whereas St Nicholas (Father Christmas) visits all well behaved children.Some tales have also suggested that the two are said to be related brothers even (& running a cartel).

This film is a comedy horror that focuses on the annual get-together of a rather dysfunctional family (some of the children are right horrible little shits basically) where the family household becomes like a battleground for disputes & children constantly bickering (rather like the Houses of Parliament).
One of the better behaved kids Max throws a paddy-fit whilst arguing with his distant cousins & in anger rips up his Christmas Wish-List which in turn sparks a visit to the neighborhood of Krampus & his posse of naughty elves, evil gingerbread men & teddy bears & so carnage resumes.

All in all this was a pretty good film which has doses of comedy & horror dished out in equal measures the only disappointment I found was the look of Krampus himself which I half expected a half goat/demon but he actually looked like Father Christmas who had just returned from visiting all the children having downed twice his body-weight in sherry & mince-pies & looking rather unwell as a result (whilst wearing a pair of horns). The ending although strange had an air of unpredictability about it.Pretty good 7/10.

High-Rise (2015)

Bit weird (and a bit shit) but Sienna Miller gets fucked in it and gets her tits out so happy enough with that. Cheers.

Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)

Romantic comedy drama starring the wonderful Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard.
Struggling writer Paul Varjak moves into a New York apartment building and becomes intrigued by his pretty, quirky neighbor Holly Golightly. Holly's lifestyle confuses and fascinates Paul; in public she flits through parties with a sexy, sophisticated air, but when they're alone she changes into a sweetly vulnerable bundle of neuroses.
One of my favourites.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

I finally got a chance to see this after the reviews on here. I went today and honestly... I must be missing something that you guys saw in it because I thought it was below average. The special effects are better than the Force Awakens, so that's good news. The many downsides for me include there being lame jokes, there's some really pointless scenes and boring dialogue, there's still so many unanswered questions and a lack of faith to the Star Wars extended universe and the movie is way overlong. Sorry guys, but I'm not impressed. I'm actually thinking of giving up on the new franchise after this. Maybe the plot holes will be answered in the next movie, but this was a waste of time for me today. That's all I'll say, judge for yourselves, but for me, not good. 2/5

Bright (2017)

Not as bad as the critics make out, but by no means brilliant. Solid, if unspectacular.

Happy New Year everyone !!.

Cage Dive (2017);

I do admit to having a fascination about sharks (particularly Great White's) & so I can quite happily binge-watch the whole of shark-week whenever it's on the Discovery Channel.

Anyhow this is a so-called 'found footage' film (in which the involved camera was said to have been found on the Sea-Bed off the coast of Australia) about two brothers & one of the brothers fiancee's (who just so happens to be knocking both of them off at the same time) who decide to fulfill a life-long dream on going on a cage-dive expedition with Great-White's. Whilst the hapless trio are locked in the cage looking in awe at sharks bouncing off the cage when a freak wave causes the boat & cage attached to capsize leaving the remaining survivors (including the three main characters who manage to escape the cage) thrashing around in the Sea hoping to be rescued (or get the chance of seeing what the inside of a sharks belly looks like).

This film at times suffers the same problem with many of these 'found footage' films suffer from which is the shaky camera footage that at times make it hard to see whats going on but to be fair it does make this film a lot more tense to watch at times.This film is very similar in tone to the film 'Open Water' where a bulk of the film is spent bobbing up & down in the middle of the sea/ocean with the conundrum of what would you do if you're stranded would you a)swim to shore & if so in what direction or b)wait for help & if help will actually turn up.
There's also some well-shot shark footage on show in with some subtle CGI mixed in to make it quite a good watch.6.5/10.
