Apartment 41(2015)

Another short clocking in at just under seven minutes but the potential is lost in just a plethora of clichés.Its all been done before and better.

Avengers: Infinity War

BEST COMICBOOK FILM EVER!!!!

What a way to mark 10yrs of the MCU!!!! Incredible special effects & action, very funny, very emotional and a cliffhanger ending that will leave you reeling for a very very long time.

All the cast are excellent (can't single out a single cast member) and all the all the avengers get their moment to shine over the course of the film & the Russo Brothers pull it off fantastically with such a huge number of characters in the film.

Stan Lee has a nice fun cameo and there is just one post credits scene, but it's a humdinger of a scene setting up an upcoming MCU film

10/10

Bedazzled(1967)

A droll comedy from Stanley Donen that's basically a retelling of Faust starring Peter Cook in fine form as George Spiggott,aka Lucifer.Who has a wager with God as to who will be the first to collect 100 billon souls.Dudley Moore is as very good as the hapless Stanley Moon whilst Barry Humpries is fun as the sin Envy,with Raquel Welsh looking great as Lillian Lust.Much more enjoyable than the Harold Ramis remake that came later on.

Patriot's Day (2017);

Hard-hitting true story of the Boston Marathon Bombing in 2013 where 3 people were killed & several hundred were injured & maimed at the event (several Policemen were killed in the pursuit of the bombers).Mark Wahlberg plays Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders who helped marshall the annual event unbeknownst of what tragedy was to occur.But in the aftermath he played a pivotal role in helping the survivors & with his extensive knowledge of surveillance cameras around the event helped identify the bombers which proceeded in one of the largest man-hunts before they were to commit further acts.

The film is initially set several days up to the lead of the annual Marathon & is played through in stages through various characters eyes (even the bombers) in the lead up & in the pursuit that follows.Instead of relying on CGI like other films the film instead uses hand-camera style footage as well the actual CCTV footage giving it a grittier more authentic feel.
Before the film ends there are interviews with several of the real characters that were portrayed in the film as well as survivors,relatives & friends who lost loved-ones in the tragedy & touches over how the whole community came together in the face of such adversity where the city adopted the motto 'Boston Strong'.

Tbh beforehand I did initially think that this film was going to be another attempt to gloss over a tragic true-story with over-hammed acting & OTT CGI effects but I was hugely wrong.The acting (particularly Mark Wahlberg) was top drawer the gritty camera shots & the real-time footage adds a huge dose of realism to things.The interviews at the end really hits home at the end.Great film 8.5/10.
