Europe have retained the Solheim Cup, & now only require another half point for an outright win.

Final score

USA 13-15 Europe.

Europe held their nerve very well overall to maintain the 2 point overnight advantage.
Well played ladies.

RE: Golf
Well done Europe. Worthy winners!!

Shame on Sky for demoting to an also ran on the golf channel. - particularly highlights. If this had been Ryder, then the entire days play each day would have been replayed in full! Were the women really not entitled to the same?? Cannot believe the acquiescence of the women presenters/reporters/commentators, to this chauvinist agenda

RE: Golf
When I saw a little summary on Sky Sports News before 9, it sounded like Europe were approx 8-4 up in the singles and cruising to the win. So fair play to US for making it closer.

But well done to Europe anyway Tongue

Well done ladies!!

Sky should be lambasted for not taking a serious interest in this competition it is just as important as the Ryder Cup.

Of course it is!! Couldn't agree more! Tournament golf will always be the bread and butter (literally) but to try and find a difference in the standing of the Solheim as against the Ryder, is wrong headed and ignorant!! What exactly do those that see the mens game as superior base it on?? Can only be yardage of the tee from the bully boys lead by dechambeau!! ||||The great Seve would be doing cartwheels at where this guy (and others) have taken the game. Seve would say 'where is the skill now?? you know, the skill(s) I had and showed in abundance'.

RE: Golf
I had an interesting round this morning. Arrived at the course early as the sun was due to rise, only a heavy mist/ fog greeted me. Instead of waiting for conditions to improve, I decided to head out in front of the greenkeepers, as I thought it would be safer in the knowledge that I wouldn't inadvertently wipe any of them out. It became a race to stay ahead, as I could here the mowers arriving as I set my putt in motion on the 1st, with a trail of dew behind the ball as it broke towards the hole. A good lag, I thought, as I momentarily looked away to return my putter to my bag, then welcome sound of it finding the bottom of the cup as my eyes refocused on the hole. A birdie start, & I'm off. An 8 foot par save on the next, & a 15 footer for birdie on the 5th. The front 9 was completed with a wedge shot to 4 foot for another birdie. I checked the time & I'd played half a round in under an hour.
I took a breather, & had a quick chat with the greenkeepers, before I set off on the back-nine with the mist lifting. A steady but unspectacular 9 holes were completed at a slightly steadier rate.
There's a point were rushing will result in bad shots, but, by the same token spending too long can cause indecision. I balance, playing quicker will more often result in playing better. Amateurs have no excuse, (other than being crap) for slow play. Pro's have their livelihood at stake, but some players stretch the limits.
In moving ball sports, hand (foot ? ) - eye coordination is paramount, but you can implement those skills in static ball sports, such as snooker, or golf. Especially with the short-game, a quick look at your target, & react to it with straight-forward chips & putts.
A misconception about static ball sports, from those that don't play, would be, that they must be easy, because the ball is motionless, wrong. We've all seen someone barely strike the que-ball at a Pub Pool table, when it's inches from their nose, & fresh-air shots are a common site at driving-ranges & courses alike.
A wise man once said "golf is 90% mental, & 10% physical" ...... So crack on.

McIlroy returned to winning ways at the [name goes here], though his amazing 62 on Saturday was matched with a 62 from Morikawa yesterday who finished as runner-up.
