no not really but if kerry is classed as a celeb why not the girls well there on tv aren't they

It doesn't matter if they're on TV, they're not mainstream. Kerry's a celebrity because...

a) She was in a popular girl group. (Atomic Kitten)
b) She was on a very popular TV show (I'm A Celebrity...)
c) She's in every single gossip rag like Heat, OK and all that shit.
d) She's done a slew of reality TV shows depicting her train wreck of a life.

Because of all that stuff, she's extremely famous. Everyone knows who she is. A very tiny percentage of the British populartion know who the girls on the babe shows are, and it's a fairly select demographic. There's no way the girls are celebrities, I'm sorry.

The press love Kerry because she's famous and she's a complete mess and those two things combine to selling magazines.

yes ok she is famous but anybody can be classed as celebs these days just for appearing on reality tv

It generally fades very, very quickly when it comes to something like Big Brother. Some of them hang on forever, appearing on 100 Greatest whatever shows and panel shows, but most fade away into obscurity. Still, for the time they're on Big Brother, they're massively famous as the show reaches so many homes and goes on for months.

Personally I don't think it is quite so clear cut as mainstream or not and is a matter of perspective on whether you classify someone as a celebrity. Also you've got to remember that whilst this might be a forum for TV channels that doesn't mean that some of the ladies here aren't better known for work elsewhere
