Things like Dr. Horrible... and Sanctuary have certainly made a few people sit up and take notice, but the worry for me is that TV execs won't pay serious heed until web content is seriously monetized, by which point it will bear a startling resemblance to network television in the way it operates. For at least the next ten years TV will continue to operate in much the same way it does now. The numbers are king and only "Reality" TV seems to make instant impact right now thanks to the premium rate voting system. Poor Schlubs like us can only hope that just occassionally the odd piece of brilliance will sneak under the radar, however briefly. (Dead Like Me, Freaks & Geeks or Firefly anyone?)

Firefly is one that I totally loved (bought the dvd's) and when they made Serenity it kind of summed up how wrong they were to cancel it...Joss had so much left to give with that show, but atleast it went out in style with a great movie!

A Universe update guys, some new cast members have been added including,
Alaina Huffman (Black Canary in Smallville)
Elyse Levesque (most recently was in Men In Trees)
Ming-Na Wen (from ER)
Lou Diamond Phillips (need I say any more than...lalalalala la bamba! lol)
Although Ming-Na and Lou haven't been confirmed as regulars yet.

Apologies over bumping an old thread, but I think it's worth it, here's the preview trailer Smile

It starts on the 6th October on Sky1, hopefully it won't disappoint!

I have watched every episode of Stargate SG1 and Atlantis (prehaps more than once Smile

) Think its a brillant series and hope Universe continues the trend. ( The cast seem good ...Robert Carlyle etc)

Cant wait.

The Sky mag does say 9pm, but the reminder is set for 8pm, so you'll need to keep an eye out for it Wink
