Maybe the route ofcock need to take is for the complaint procedure to be changed. to make it so that, you can only complain about something been unacceptable for children if you have children and so on (that should go with the investigators aswell)

If the complaint from concerned parents is against the Babe Channels, then they should enable the pin protection on their sky or freeview boxes. That way they won't have a complaint, and any anger should be directed at the children for attempting to view unsuitable material for their age group.

You cant pin-protect free view though (remember most of these new rules are because of the pad been broadcast on freeview during the day) So thats a non starter

I'm waiting for someone with the newer freeview to answer your query, my old freeview box had a part to exclude channels from being received, together with pin protection would stop children reseting the box, whilst the parents were out

Like most my freeview receiver is built into the tv which offers no pin protection

funny as when i do a reset on my freeview box it ask's for a for number pin
also you can lock channel on a freeview box but only thing is if you do a reset you have to lock the channels that you locked all over again

I have got 2 freeview built in TV's and 2 freeview+ hard drive recorders , all have a child lock/pin protection that you have to manually set up , but like dave 34 says if you do a re-scan the locked/pin protected channels become unlocked so you then have to lock/pin protect the channels all over again .

Yeah, but no child is going to know how to manipulate something like this, and if they do, then it's obvious they really want to watch the adult channels.

I also find it funny how Ofcom appears to think (I have no proof though) that by censoring porn and the adult channels, that this will reduce the amount of teen pregnancies in England. Um, this stuff is still censored, yet the pregnancies still continue

People are horny, and will continue to be horny, and if you take away something that they can have relatively easy access to, then I believe there's a greater chance that some might end up taking matters into their own hands. Not many, but enough to make a noticeable difference.

Also, this internet porn block will backfire greatly if it's imposed upon us by the government, and not given to people with some options. Once porn is blocked, what's to stop them from blocking certain sports, or violent movies? What's most troubling is that there's never a gray area with this type of thing, and it's always black or white. Either everything is acceptable, or everything is bad and needs to be censored. People in charge don't want to take the effort to look at everything in context, and are too afraid of being judged by the type of people who complain about a female body part being shown at 2am on the adult channels.

If there's one type of porn that needs to be blocked, it's child porn, obviously. However, in some ways it would be smarter NOT to block that immediately, because it will be easier to catch the scum bags who look at it. Track their IPS address and arrest them, or at least keep tabs on them if arrests can't be made for some reason. On CNN recently, a ton of people had been downloading child porn from some Austrian site, and apparently the 500 or so people they busted, was only 1 % of the people who were actually looking at this stuff. While it's disgusting, at least the authorites know where to look, and the internet actually helped them identify these people. What's really sad is that if this stuff was blocked, then I think a lot more pedophiles would be out and about, looking for victims and other ways to exploit them. However, I'm sure the police now know who many of the other viewers are, and have hopefully put their names down for further investigation. That's what's sad is that sometimes, having sick material online seems to be the only way for people to catch criminals. With that said, if the government shut down and investigated all of the child porn sites, then the people responsible wouldn't have a way of making money, which would be good news, but the police would need to find another way to keep an eye on this stuff, and track down where this type of activity is taking place.

Blocking legal, adult porn, on adult computers is not responsible though. We need to be given an option, instead of someone making our own decisions, and parents need to be responsible and monitor what their children do, or have their children's computers blocked from these sites. That's what I would do.

11:00pm From Daily Telegraph: "Following Vince Cables outburst against Rupert Murdochs proposed takeover of Sky TV, Downing Stret announce that all responsibility for competition and policy relating to media, broadcasting, and digital to be transfered to The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport." Hope this means that OFCOM won't be overseeing babeshows from now on.

Do all these new rules apply to all channels or just the babe channels. Orherwise Rachel Riley (Countdown ) will have to start wearing longer dresses and a place in the sun will have to stop showing people on beaches in Bikinis having fun.
