RE: ICC Cricket World Cup 2011
ireland are a good side. there are many irish players in county cricket but unfortunatly there is no first class cricket in ireland if they had this and exposure to higher quality teams and players, they would be alot better. hopefully in a few years time thye might get test status if they sort a strong 1st class cricket system out or they should be allowed to field a team in the county championship not just the one day league.

also holland are another side that gets overlooked. they are both very underrated by everyone.

THERE ARE NO EXCUSES! ireland are officially ranked below zimbabwe in the world rankings. That so called group of professional cricketers have bought shame and humiliation on english cricket.

I never thought we would sink lower than losing to Holland, this bunch of shit has proved me wrong.

england are good at test and t20 cricket, not 50 over cricket i have not been following this world cup after the shit in the west indies in 2007, over priced and overrated world cup. england should give up playing 50 over cricket and stick test match and t20 matches.

RE: ICC Cricket World Cup 2011
The cricket world cup should never last more than 3 weeks, the icc are only interested in trying to make money from a bunch of pointless games. Ever since they took the tournament out of england things have gone down hill. Poor organisation, poor attendances, sky high prices and meaningless matches, all in the name of making a quick buck. The only countries the world cup should ever be played in are Aus/nz and england, where the facilities and organisation are already in place. I have lived through many highs and lows but todays performance has left me totally shocked, i know our 50 over form has not been good but we should still beat the likes of ireland.

I'm afraid you've got that wrong. These are the current rankings:

Australia
India
South Africa
Sri Lanka
England
Pakistan
New Zealand
Bangladesh
West Indies
Ireland
Zimbabwe
Netherlands
Kenya

Actually you are wrong, Zimbabwe have 44 points Ireland have 38 points the rankings have not been updated to take into account zimbabwe,s recent series win over Bangladesh. But it does not matter where they are, we should never lose to rubbish like ireland.

Update! Ranking now reversed to take into account irelands win over England

If we don't make the quarters I hope Geoff Miller's p45 is in the post.Changes need to be made for Sunday's humiliation

Broad : not fit
Collingwood : had his day if your gonna play him put him lower down
Anderson : knackered needs a long rest and not very good at 1 day cricket
Bresnan : good player but like Anderson exhausted
Luke Shite : who nuff said can't bat or bowl
Tredwell : who/what
Yardy : would struggle in pub cricket

Bopara : If he had played against India we would have won
Kieswetter and Rashid and Lumb should be in the squad
Would have taken Cook on form alone, regardless whether he plays odi or not would have got more runs than Collingwood and could anchor an innings
Tremlett as reserve, humbug Woakes or Plunkett offer more

Strauss : no good as 1day captain looks clueless

Exactly thats why I didn't mention most of the batsmen in my rant, more the bowlers who look tired and control of the bowling and the poor fielding is down to the captain.

Almost lost to Holland
Tied with India, could have won with better control
Lost to Ireland, embarrassing but not the end.If they some how beat South Africa on Sunday I'll reconsider my opinion

South Africa 351/5 off 50 overs

Netherlands 120 all out off 34.5 overs

South Africa won by 231 runs

South Africa got off to a decent start however the key partnership was the 3rd wicket which was worth 221 runs that was shared by Amla and De Villers and useful runs from Duminy that boosted the score to 351. The Netherlands got off to a steady start but lost wickets on regular intervals and were never in the match really another heavy defeat for the dutch.

Pakistan 184 all out off 43 overs

Canada 138 all out off 42.5 overs

Pakistan won by 46 runs

Pakistan got off to a poor start and lost wickets on regular intervals however good bowling from the Canadians restricted them to 184 and there was a chance of an upset however Canada collapsed from 104/3 to 138 all out to hand Pakistan a 46 runs victory.
