Help Identify this file type.

Probably a real dunces question but what type of file is this, I no its a RAR file part 1 of 9 but what confuses me is all this DVDrip.Xvid-DivXfacTory.CD1 is that just part of the name or does it give details of when I've joined it with RAR what type of media file it is, because I don't what to spend the best part of four hours downloading all 9 parts just to find that I've wasted all that time for it to turn into a media file type that I cant play. Basically is it possible to to tell what type of media file this is before downloading it and will it play with WMP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, been looking forward to this DVD for quite a while, Anita Pearl is just stunning.

Once it's all joined together it will almost certainly end up as an .AVI file, which will play through WMP no problem at all if you have the divX codec, which you almost certainly do. Even if it turns out to be something else entirely, once it's joined just ask again and someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

Found it indexed on Usenet and it appears to be an avi file ripped from DVD.
