My first choice is Independence Day. Why you ask? well let me count the ways...

Independence Day is a film that I have an irrational hatred towards.

When I first saw it I actually quite enjoyed it as a 'spectacle' with all the alien ships attacking, but afterwards I suddenly thought what a pile of shite it really is.

I can forgive most films for little plotholes if it doesn't have too much of an affect on the story, however for me there is one major problem with this film in the way they defeat the aliens.

A laptop!!!! a virus!!!!

I'm sorry, but we defeat a race of aliens who have superior technology with a fucking laptop and a virus? I didn't realise that the aliens powered their ships using Windows.
Jesus, sometimes I have trouble connecting my ipod so how the frig a laptop can give an entire alien fleet a virus is beyond me, surely they have a firewall
Its an unforgivably lame plot point and at that stage I couldn't really take it seriously at all.

other films I think are crap.....

Snakes On A Plane - why not just use a bomb and save us 90 mins of boredom.

Creep - brit horror film, shockingly bad.

Withnail & I - funny?? sorry did I miss something, just awful

The Wicker Man - original is a classic and a fav of mine, the Nic Cage remake is atrocious.

That wouldn't make me want to watch it though. They just have to come up with a half decent storyline that isn't farfetched, and is reasonably believable. I hate sitting in the cinema going, that would never happen. Like in solace when they jump out of the airplane...Yeah Right!!!

That film called fallen with denzil washington that was awful.

it got rave reviews and I just don't get why!
Sophia Capolla directed it and shes the daughter of Francis-Ford who did The Godfathers..she was the annoying daughter in Godfather Part 3...thats another shit film!

the thing people dont get about independence day is that it was an homage to war of the worlds. the martians in it were killed by a virus. this was just a nod to that.
