PIN message
There have been several posts in this section of the forum by various people about the use of a PIN to restrict access to certain channels.
I saw this welcoming message when I switched on my Freeview PVR today.
I'd never seen it before.

RE: PIN message
That's brilliant!

Further proof that there are enough safety precautions for the adult channels, and that the current censorship is unreasonably strict. None of the content we are asking for is going to harm anyone who might happen upon them, as we are just asking to see a normal body part for once, NOT twisted violent fetish stuff.

RE: PIN message
I watch on Sky which has an automatic PIN entry required after 9pm. I also have a Freeview DVR so I'll look out for this.

It would be nice to think that there is a move to sanity on this issue. After all were only wanting to give the models some freedom and at the same time increase our own enjoyment.

I will watch this space with interest.

RE: PIN message
Absolutely! SKY has this option as well, where you click Services, enter pin code and block the adult channels if you want. It's permanent until you switch it back, and the channels won't even appear if you try to go to them. I can't believe Ofcom doesn't think this is enough protection!

Ridiculous.

RE: PIN message
Great! Theyve told loads of kids where to find adult channels and what the default PIN is, things they might not have known before.

Sort of, but they need to know the pin in the first place, which can be changed.

RE: PIN message
In the most at risk households the PIN will be the default. Parents who dont even know adult channels exist arent up to speed on these things.

RE: PIN message
Not like it matters anyway, seeing as these channels show less than the non adult channels.

RE: PIN message
It won't matter a fuck how good the safety measure's are that are in place, ofcom will allways come up with any kind of bullshit on how they feel it necessary to baby sit the fucking nations morals and telly entertainment. What more can you say I think all arguments and ideas against ofcom have more or less now become exhausted on this forum.

That's incorrect. The only automatic PIN requirement is for films certified 15 or above being shown during the day. There is no such system in place for the watershed.
