The Karate wasn't what I expected.
I expected a competition where the last guy standing wins the gold. Instead it was just a series of poses. And lots of noise. No contact at all.

I turned over and watched the women volleyball instead, mostly the tall blonde Lativian girl.

She's what you call a tough nut. But she's talented as well she played football to a high level.

Their individual records at major Championships are both outstanding and they seem to have been around forever. However Laura is only 29 and Katie is 27 so hopefully we'll see both of them at Paris!

Laura is riding in the Omnium too which is probably her best event.

I do like this trend of pairings putting the medals around each others necks.
