An open letter to anyone who gives a fuck to read

Do you find Ofcom debates mind numbing? Could you enjoy a better forum experience if only the Ofcom haters were relaxed? For years now there seems to have been a zero tolerance policy where the slightest deemed Ofcom transgression (whether involved or not) results in a full blown hissy fit, growing up time is soaked up, 6-9 months of indignation, playing angered and lost lifespan. Most complaints, no matter how trivial, are posted. Too often channels are disinterested. This isn’t true of any other forumite. Thousands of people haven't signed the e-Gov petition for fair treatment for adult channels. Thousands. Does your apathy ignore the hissy fit list? Can you help ignore it?

It doesn’t ask anything outrageous. Just that 'adults' don't treat things so seriously, perhaps get out more, go for a nice long walk. Or even have a nice gentle lie down, and wait for the anger to wash away. Don't become the easily offended.

Allow encrypted channels to show exactly what they do now from 9pm, as only a moron pays for porn anyway.

Allow free to air adult channels to show cert U strength content only from 10pm – Start to really fuck with these people. Sexual language must be outlawed, oil banned, so is absurdly fake girl-girl and even gestures. But people can see non-stop killing in Rambo 3, let alone torture porn like Hostel and Saw on public service channels from 10pm. Fair? Who cares.

Allow no channel to show adult content after midnight. Give these moaning halfwits something to really moan about for a change. In fact, how about going back to the days when television was only available for a few hours a day before switching off.

Allow encrypted adult channels to show R18 content after midnight, but only if the viewer is wearing a dirty mac, while eating a whole orange, standing atop a step ladder, over-looking a painting of a dog wearing roller skates. Encryption provides adequate reasons to fuck with these people and make them think they're going to get something hardcore, when really there's more hardcore action going on down a disused mine.

The serious and widespread 'discussion' that Ofcom haters frequently bring to this forum simply does not exist. Complaints are almost non existent. Anyone offended by Ofcom's existence are equally likely to be offended by a bag of crisps. Far more offence is caused by the people who drag every thread around here into an anti Ofcom debate.

What do you say? Can you help neuter these people? Can you help bring an end to these pointless and ineffectual petitions popping up everywhere?
