Now that's a very interesting argument and also because of the lack of power Ofcom has over Babestation for example, they have infact scored an own goal and effectively given the green light for Eurotic TV if it so wishes to do to also Broadcast on the Astra 2 28.2 degree satelite which can be picked up by SKY. Even in Scotland I can pick up Astra 1 and Hotbird with a big enough dish so Ofcom it would appear are totally powerless to stop foriegn channels joining the SKY EPG based on the argument that all satelites in Europe can be picked up regardless of what Country they are licenced to. It's part of the European Union agreement that nobody should be denied access to television from their own homeland. The more foreign channels we get on the SKY EPG the weaker Ofcom's defense becomes

In a response to the press release from Six TV, a spokesperson for NICAM wrote in an email to Broadband TV News: “NICAM issues the highest age classification for porn in the Netherlands, 16 years, because it can be harmful for children. This implies that [such content] cannot be broadcast before 10pm. The Dutch legislator, hence also NICAM, are of the opinion that by that time children should be in bed and that adults should be able to decide what to watch and what not to watch. Indeed, NICAM does not participate in a discussion about morals or good taste when it comes to what adults can watch.”

So here you go and because of this own goal scored, effectively Eurotic TV has more or less been given the green light to broadcast on SKY seeing as it doesn't have to conform to Ofcom rules or regulation

I have certainly noticed the shows slackening their reigns of late - especially on the dayshows.

It has to be said that with this latest development things are getting quite exciting and looking rather promising.

Well the way I see it is, eUrotic was and still is available to view in this country. It's footprint already covers most of the UK if not all of it. All eUrotic are doing is expanding their business to cover more customers by transmitting on a second satellite. Ofcom can hardly complain about the channels content on the new satellite if it was content with it's tranmission from the first. Afterall it will be exactly the same show.

This simply doesn't stand up, aceman. eUrotic is not (currently) on the Sky platform and you need a dish pointing at hotbird to pick it up. I don't know how you can claim Ofcom will have no say on the matter once the channel is being bounced of the Sky satellite and listed on the EPG. There are dozens upon dozens of hardcore porn channels out there that are, as you put it 'available to view in this country', just so long as you have the required equipment, but I don't see any of them coming over to the Sky platform, do you?

Oh I'm sure Ofcom will have it's say once the channel moves to the Sky satellite. But that's exactly the point I'm getting at. Why are Ofcom discriminating against the channels transmitting off the Sky satellite if the same channel transmitting off another satellite which is also available in this country is OK.

But it's only OK because you need the right equipment to receive it. Ofcom don't see these foreign channels as being 'available in this country' because they're not on Sky. There are hundreds of thousands of channels out there and dozens and dozens of hardcore porn channels which anyone in the UK can receive if they have the right equipment. Ofcom can do bugger all about that, but they can when it comes to those channels using the same satellite as Sky and having their own slot and EPG on the Sky platform.

What you're saying is a bit like saying hardcore porn should be available on Sky just because we can all get it on the internet or my mail order. Ofcom don't think like that.

Incidentally, are there not any test signals for eUrotic being broadcast now. I'd expect there to be if their start date is imminent.
