Porn Filters

One of my tutors wrote this on FB earlier:

I just hope that Dionne Mendez does Boy/Girl before this filter comes into place, once I see that I can do without internet porn ever again.

But as the filters can be switched on and off at will any records requested won't be reliable or accurate.

ok, so you are saying that our internet browsing history is not recorded and kept on a database?

Why should any of this happen. Adult material is not illegal, yes there can be an embarrassing stigma for many people but nothing that should worry people unnecessarily. A distinction has to be drawn between the adult material available on TV, in top shelf magazines and the depraved and disgusting filth that paedos and their ilk get their kicks from. All the government is asking is that it is made harder for children to access adult material.
Also bear in mind if they banned porn about 99% of all internet usage would suddenly drop. It would probably cause a financial global melt down

I've asked this before, but apart from a campaign in the appalling Daily Mail, why is it that children in the UK seem far more adversely affected by this material than those in other European countries, where porn is even more easily accessible? I suspect that answer will be deafening silence as before. I also agree about the dangers of having one's name on a register of those opting in. Why the hell do we all have to suffer just because this country is full of dysfunctional families and seriously bad parents? I'm sick to death of it.

Your tutor needs to engage his brain before posting anything else on this subject. A friend of mine recently deactivated his Talktalk filter because it was slowing the internet down for him, and he has no children to protect anyway, so where's the proof he's engaged in any depravity? He just wanted a faster internet.

The proof will be on his hard drive and his name will be on a database.
I would suggest your friend contacts Claire Perry, Member of Parliament for the Devizes Constituency and PPS to Philip Hammond, Secretary of State for Defence, and let her know he doesn't view porn, just likes fast internet.

Yes the Talktalk filter can be switched on and off at will and it only takes 10 seconds to take effect.
