Watchmen
I saw this film the other day, and I'm pretty impressed Big Grin

There were a few minor changes from the original comics (and one major change), but all in all, it was pretty damn cool. Any of you guys got any thoughts on it?

RE: Watchmen
I've not seen it yet but am definitely planning to. I'm glad it's an 18 certificate meaning it should be quite raw...how was it compared to Sin City?

It is more violent than Sin City I reckon. The violence is a lot less frequent, but it's really very graphic. I actually cringed at one scene in particular Tongue

RE: Watchmen
I'm writing this having just wasted THREE HOURS AND TWENTY FIVE MINUTES of my life watching this film!!!

Started off pretty well with the fight scene and then the clever, arty intro sequence but then went quickly downhill from there.

I must admit never having seen the comic book series but I just thought it was too long-winded and far-fetched in my opinion.

Sin City wins by a country mile!

RE: Watchmen
Watchmen is 2 hours, 43 minutes. Maybe you were watching something else? Wink

Saw it earlier this afternoon and thought it was great. Visually impressive, absorbing throughout and it had Malin Akerman in skintight shiny latex, so come the DVD release the pause button will be getting a work out.

RE: Watchmen
i thought it was just superb. this is a film that so easily could've either been laughable, dissapointing or just just plain wrong.

looking on imdb on friday night after i came home from the screening i was not too surprised to see people moaning about two things mostly. it was too close to the book to be a good film and there was bits missing/changed from book to screen. you cant please everyone.

heres a little trivia from imdb on how the film could've been lol - During early development in the early 1990s, mainly focused around the screenplay by Sam Hamm, early casting rumors included Robin Williams as Rorschach, Jamie Lee Curtis as Silk Spectre, Gary Busey as the Comedian, and both Richard Gere and Kevin Costner considered for the role of NiteOwl. The project underwent numerous rewrites under director Terry Gilliam and his collaborator Charles McKeown, but got eventually shelved by Warner Bros.
