I thought it was OK, a bit rushed though.

It had some genuinely funny moments and was far superior to Back To Earth.

RE: Red Dwarf X & XI
What I've seen so far the humour does seem more in the spirit/style of the "old school" Series 3, 4, 5 - eg. the way the second episode opens with Lister and Rimmer playing "Mineopoly".
Trying to avoid spoilers but the theme of the second episode was very reminiscent to me of one back in series 4 or 5 ? where there was a force stopping people committing acts of injustice; this episode was along similar, though tweaked lines.
Quite well done, although the conclusion/resolution of this one seemed a bit rushed again.

the episode is called Justice from series 4. where they go to a prison that has a "Justice Field" where if you commit a crime, the field makes it happen to you. so if you set something on fire, you end up on fire.

another very good episode, loved cat's history lesson and kryten's "bing bong" laugh

Seemed a lot calmer this week, although a bit of a shaggy dog story, as well as a calmer rehash of the Justice episode as you say. The Archimedes skit went on too long, and to no effect.

The 3rd episode suffered from the silly paradox about Lister's kidneys.

The 4th episode had some laughs, although another rehash of previous character episodes from Rimmer, and with an entirely lousy abrupt ending.

The 5th episode was a bit dull, as Kryten is, and I thought the ending would have been funnier with Kryten telling Butler where to go.

What I've seen has been better than I expected, as I hadn't watched the previous "revivals", but it didn't seem to be quite firing on all cylinders.

Seemed to me a bit like they'd been watching a lot of Series 3,4,5 and trying to "rehash" the best ideas and overall "feel" of that period, not quite successfully imo, we're all quite a bit older now after all.

I think my favourite episodes are still the ones with the original "Holly" - eg. "Queeg" - that was class.
