Sure it is not for Mourinho. I'm not sure he would fit properly at United. He would not be a long term fixture going by his previous form.

Will be thankful when all this manager fuss has died down. Happy if it is Moyes. He has all the right ingredients. All the talk of not having experience at this level is idiotic. The very same comments were levelled at Fergie when he moved from Scotland. "One thing to win cups and leagues in Scotland but another to do it in England" lol. The guy has enough about him to produce or buy quality players such as Rooney, Baines, Jagielka, Jelovich and Fellaini.
These plans have been in place for a while apparently with Fergie making his retirement decision in February before the 2nd leg match against Real Madrid.

Moyes is a good manager he did a great job at Everton under a tight budget,he deserves a shot at (financially) bigger club

Not a fan of Moyes getting the job. You can't compare when Fergie took over to Moyes, also Fergie had achieved a lot with Aberdeen in terms of actully winning titles. Moyes hasn't proven he's a winner and that's a concern. We should have got Mourinho or even someone like a Carlo Anchelotti, even if just for a few season to maintain some success and then maybe offered the job to someone like Moyes.

I hope I'm wrong, I hope he does a great job but if we go two seasons without the league there will be calls for him to go. Someone with a proven history of winning titles would have been given more time. Moyes because of his lack of history of being a winner, the fans are less likely to be patient. A 6 year contract is OOT, I think a 4 year contract would have been fair. If he had a successful first couple of season then extend it by a couple. 6 years is overkill, and if it goes wrong a lot of compensation to pay out.

Another thing I disagree with is some fans saying Moyes will need time. This is not the same as when Fergie took over. We were a sleeping giant back then much like Liverpool are now. This is a team that's just won the title. Moyes will need to deliver almost immediately.

Im not a man utd fan, but personally i think moyes for the long term is a better option, he may not have one anything, but i think he has earned the right to have a crack at a big club, and there isnt many bigger than yours, for me me mourinho doesnt fit your team, he never seems to have a long term plan, its as if his mission is to win a title in every different league in every country, i wouldnt be surprised to see him in the bundesliga, sometime in the near future.

Moyes is the ideal man for the job. All the big names are just that. Big names who think they are bigger than any of the many clubs they have managed. We want stability not a new big name every 18 months. With a modest budget Moyes has kept Everton in the top ten for 9 of his 11 years in charge. With a bigger budget, the support of a massive club and the experience of top business men I think he will do us proud in following on from Fergie. United would not hire someone on a whim or a gamble.
