Finn only bowled 25 overs in the last test. If Cook doesn't feel confident enough to give him more overs then I think Bresnan would be a better option, despite him having a poor record at Lords.

Former Australia Coach Micky Arthur is taking legal action over his sacking by Cricket Australia claiming he was discriminated against as he was from South Africa.

After the disaster of losing 3 wickets in the first 6 overs England have made it to lunch without any further loss and are 80/3.

Trott was out for 58 caught in the deep hooking, leaving England 127-4,before Bell 109 added 144 for the 5th wicket with Bairstow 67 who made the most of his luck after Siddle clean bowled him but was called back after replay showed it was a no-ball.Clarke was running out of options with Agar off the field when he turned to Smith who turned a leg-break that took Bell's edge & was caught at slip.Bairstow hit a low full toss straight back to Smith & Prior was caught behind by Haddin as England lost 3-12.They closed on 289-7,Australia will be the happier team.

Harris 3-43 Smith 3-18

Steve Smith managed to get lots of turn (and wickets) in his few overs. It makes you wonder what would have happened if Clarke would have brough him on 30 overs earlier Rolleyes

Well done to Ian Bell in scoring 3 test hundreds in successive matches Smile
The ‘Sherminator’ done good.

But that was hardly likely to happen. With a test bowling average of 71 Smith was not exactly an obvious option. I think Clarke should be given credit for his willingness to experiment and try something different.
