RE: pin code?
It's not happening to me tonight and never has done, but it's something that has been reported in the forum several times by several people, so as Tintin says it happens sometimes.

Mine does that sometimes, I just pull the power out, leave if for about a minute then put it back in, that usually sorts it for me.

It's probably better to leave this thread here, so the next person who has this problem has something to refer to and help him out.

RE: pin code?
Just switching your box on and off will not cure this under all circumstances. The root cause is Sky's parental control features which are designed to prevent children from seeing content that is intended for adult viewing. In fact cycling the power should have no effect - I suspect the problem has gone away due to the time of day.

You will find parent control features by pressing the "Services" button which is one of the blue buttons near the top of the remote. Then you will see "Parental Control" as option 3 in the menu. If you select this, it will ask for your PIN which is a four digit code.

On most boxes this will be the same as the last four digits of your viewing card number. You can see this by selecting "Services" - then option option 4 "System Setup" - then option 5 "System Details". On this screen you will see a nine digit number labelled "Viewing Card Number". You PIN is usually the last four digits of this number.

If you have had your digibox for a while, then it is possible that you have had a card swap-out in which case you PIN will not match your viewing card number. In this instance you need to contact Sky and they can reset your PIN over the phone and this will take effect in a few minutes. You can also ring Sky if you just want to change your PIN to a better number. Under no circumstances set you Sky PIN to be the same as your bank cards unless you enjoy other people spending your money.

Once you have your PIN you can enter the Parental Control screen. In there you will find many options. For example, you can remove all adult channels from the grid, you can block individual channels, you can time-lock channels.

These are all "off" by default. Your issue is likely to be one feature which is "on" by default. That is "PIN entry for pre-watershed content". This means that content of an adult nature will require the PIN to be entered if you tune to it before 8PM. After that time, no PIN is required.

If you have no children in the house, then you can switch this feature off and no PIN will be required ever again. But if you do have kids, then please do use these features as intended. PIN entry is there to protect the youngsters not to annoy the adults.

Hope this helps. Any more questions about digiboxes or Sky+ boxes ping them my way.

Pin request 959/965?!
Bangbabes channel 959 only, and elite 965,but not 911,are requesting my pin on my skybox. All the others are fine, and this doesnt usually happen. I have rebooted and its the same. Anyone else experiencing this tonight? My security is always set to off, as it only me here! Huh
