RE: Music On TV - Documentaries/Live Performances
Wonder how many will be shown, as it was reported that around a quarter of the 1980 shows were dropped, and 17 out of the 54 from 1981, because of the presenter problems. The two presenters they will not show worked on it into 1984.

As Financial Domination continues to grow, less enthusiasm is required when putting on a show.

The BBC stuck to the original "35 years ago, this week (more or less)" transmissions until January this year. They've been doubling up most weeks since and will continue to do so for the near future. Much like before, it's a wait and see policy governing how long they keep the repeats up for.

They've missed so many editions anyway, since 2013; this is their current solution to the problems of editions presented by the various persona non grata. But they get decent reception and ratings, and it usually trends on Twitter. Bet they're breathing a sigh of relief about Cliff though!Smile

Yeah, twice a week will speed things up. At this rate they'll have, what, another 11 years to go Tongue

And of course, tonight's was a "best of 1981" so 1982 will presumably kick off next week.

Still, at least they've brought in repeats of The Good Old Days Smile

Dear god, anyone else watching Glasto?
I don't mind Adele, but I just gave up, it has to be the dullest most uninspiring live performance I've seen in a long time. Too much dull chatter between songs without making any real 'connection' with the audience, and she just gave up on one song and re-started it. They'd be better off just sticking a damn cd on.
So bad I've given up and had to turn over to Jason frigging Manford instead, yeah, THAT bad!

I'm no fan of Adele, but I had it on in the background whilst browsing the internet. I was half listening to it. Kept meaning to turn around, grab the remote and put something else on, as you do, but anyway...

Beforehand, at least twice there were warnings for strong language, but I was really surprised at the constant swearing, shouting and screeching at the audience. I know it's Glastonbury but still. And just after spewing all of that, she picks a girl out of the crowd and gets her on stage for a selfie, shouting questions at her. Was she drunk?

I know bad language in front of little kids isn't as taboo as it once was (for some people anyway) but I thought that was bloody awful. I made the effort to switch over to New Order at that point. Miles better. Still had my back to it like, but so much easier to listen to.

Wow, Jeff Lynne at Glasto with orchestral backing. Fucking legend Smile

Why is he on in the afternoon, should be headlining in a high profile evening slot surely?

Because he's very old, and ELO haven't been a proper regular concern since about 1983.

Whereas Adele, Muse and Coldplay... Rolleyes
