Oh well this channel didn't last long Studio 66 has tweeted that Sunday night will be the last show

Oh well, at least S66 tried something different.
I'm not gonna knock them for that. I wish there was more innovation from all the channels. They have all got to try to freshen things up. The shows have become stale and a lot of the time plain boring.

Why did it fail, that is open to debate.
1. Did the girls get frustrated by our ridiculous censorship laws?
2. Were people disinterested in seeing their favourite pornstars clothed when they can see them on the net in full hardcore?
3. Were the shows too tame compared with the regular british shows?
4. Was the scheduling a complete shambles.

Where there other reasons?
Whatever happened i hope to see other channels trying something different whether it pays off or not.

My view is the show is finishing because it didn't generate enough money to make it economically viable .

Studio 66 TV3 the channel that broadcast the USA show is also currently under investigation by Ofcom, is there a connection ?, i don't personally think so but you never know .

Pretty much with you here mrmystery. The reason for me why s66usa is finishing after just short of 3 months is because it wasn't anymore making s66 enough money to keep it economically viable so they have decided to finish it at the end of the month and try something else on 941

Whilst there will be posts from some forum members crowing and taking great delight with s66usa finishing, I think s66 deserve a lot of credit for giving it a go to try something different.

Whilst s66usa is finishing, I do think there will still be guest us stars on s66 because they themselves have made s66 a lot of money because of how long s66/elite have had guest us stars on (think its about 4 yrs s66/elite have had guest us stars on in total)

Porn stars with there clothes on was not going to work, but they get credit for trying something.

its finishing because it was crap. doesn't matter what country you broadcast from, if you censor it to buggery, you aint gonna get calls.

I strongly suspect lots of 1, a bit of 2, 3 I'll elaborate on in a minute, and a bundle of 4.

Your third reason is both true and untrue. The producers were very wary of the girls (what with them being porn stars) hence the over-censorship, but the girls themselves all seemed to be either unsure of how much they could show, or unwilling to hold back.

Either way, this trial channel managed to give us some great shows with more than the odd occurrence that would have had Ofcom up in arms had their attention been brought to them.

Many of the girls quickly fell into line and respected the UK regs, but I think it's fair to say that all of them, during their very first shifts, were showing more than any of the UK girls have done in about 9 years. OK, so it wasn't all night, but they all had to be reminded, on several occasions, to keep their hands out of their knickers and to stop pulling them down to flash us full-frontals.

I agree that S66 should be commended for trying this, but ultimately their refusal to let things flow and a lack of bravery in allowing some leniency, has spelt the end of the experiment.

Said from the start it should have been web only so that it could be fully uncensored, yes some like to be able to talk to their fave Pornstars but that novelty would only last so long, especially when they can't get what they want full nude and showing all ah well

None of the above.

Costs of broadcasting from the USA were higher than running a London based channel, yet after the USA channel launched the call levels on 941 remained pretty much the same as they were before.

There just wasn't any point in continuing to incur extra costs when it wasn't producing any extra calls.

Sums up S66 that they hopelessly let this desperate project stumble along for 2-&-a-half months before bothering to scrap it.

Lovely mid-afternoon and early-evening pocket-money while it lasted for the Californian porn stars, especially during the summertime when their filming schedules aren't so busy.

Well played to them for grabbing every dollar they could off any gullible British producers who seriously thought this channel had any more mileage than the quickest of novelty value.

Once the up-coming Labor Day holiday weekend is over, those filming schedules pick up again.

What a coincidence that S66USA is closing down on the eve of those busier filming schedules.

A few posters on this thread still have no idea just how much and how often the producers and babes at all the other channels have been pissing themselves laughing at S66USA's lurch through its 11-week existence.

Some of us rumbled how bad it was very quickly which then let us sit back and enjoy all the subsequent shambles (special credit here to "snookered147").

Still, shouldn't take S66 long to come up with another half-baked project that we can all enjoy tumbling well over its particular cliff.
