RIP Sam Kelly

Just been announced that Sam Kelly has died today aged 70

bit ironic as i have been watching him all day on GOLD on there porridge weekend where he played Bunny Warren and also had a couple of other great roles in sitcoms like allo allo and barbara

Very sad. :-(

He was a staple of a lot of very popular sitcoms of the 70's and 80's.

He was very funny In the sitcom Barbara. I remember him being chased by a pack of hounds while dressed as a fox

I also remember him in 'On The Up', but I suspect there won't be many of us who'd say that...

Watched the recent Porridge tribute series on GOLD, he was a fine part of a great ensemble cast. Also just a really great actor who made great work from some funny roles.

RIP Sam I don't think there are that many left alive of the both casts of porridge or 'Allo 'Allo. Loved him in Porridge.

He also had a distinguished career as a classical actor at the National Theatre and the Old Vic and appears to have been held in very high regard by his fellow actors with tributes being paid by Stephen Fry, Mark Gatiss, Robert Lindsey, Natalie Anderson and Colin Baker to name but a few.

Sad news. A good actor
