Liverpool are about to play 7 matches in 21 days, so it's understandable that Rodgers would want Sterling to be too tired to play for England.

Jeez Sterling is a 19 year old youngster. He is still at the point where he will do as he is told by his club manager. While he has burgeoning talent and adds a little excitement other players can come in and perform just as well. Give the guy time to develop his potential.

RE: England Euro 2016 qualifying compaign
Roy Hodgson is a dinosaur who has made himself look stupid in the row over Raheem Sterling with Liverpool’s fitness regime, according to the former Wales assistant coach Raymond Verheijen.

Hodgson had said: “I don’t think there is a lot of medical evidence to support the ‘two-day recovery’.” But Verheijen, who has also worked with Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and Holland, claimed on Twitter that the 67-year-old had “once again made himself look extremely stupid. He is the perfect example of a typical uneducated English coach.

“Young players who develop more fatigue during the game need longer time to get rid of this fatigue otherwise they accumulate fatigue in body.

“Secondly, Sterling is not only a young but also an explosive player. They have many fast muscle fibres compared to less explosive players.

“Fast muscle fibres recover slower compared to slow muscle fibres because less blood & oxygen is running through these fast muscle fibres.

“If explosive players do not get extra recovery time & are treated in the same way as other players, they accumulate fatigue in their body.

“Accumulation of fatigue due to insufficient recovery makes the nervous system slower. The signal from brain to muscles travel slower

“If the signal from the brain arrives later in the muscles this means the brain has less control over body during explosive football actions.

“So there’s much evidence that insufficient recovery, accumulation of fatigue & slower nervous system are dramatically increasing injury risk.”

few names on the list that should not have made it to the team. Smalling (4 Games 1 Red Card) Carrick (1 Game CB) Townsend (4 games 0 assist) Walcott (0 Games) Rickie Lambert (1 Game 7 subs) Rooney (red carded not played last 3 games)

Few West Ham players should be called up like Cresswell, Noble. Where is Kane who has been consistent in europa.

I love Models.

You can't leave out Rooney he is after all England's best player. The midfield needs some stability so glad Carrick made the squad. Smalling, Townsend and Lambert shouldn't have made it. Kane and Noble deserved a chance too.

What are peoples thoughts on an NFL game being allowed to be played on pitch 6 days before an England Qualifier.

If there is a lot of rain for NFL game pitch could be really messed up

Shouldn't make a difference to you.... your playing Slovenia... I'd rather watch the NFL game than England. Also the NFL game is a sellout, when is the last time England sold out Wembley?

Had to laugh. Apparently more people watched Pointless on BBC1 on Saturday, rather than tune into ITV's coverage of the England game. My guess is many of them tuned into Pointless thinking IT was the England game Big Grin
