There is now way they will go the World cup with him in charge. he just isnt a one day batsman. You have to bat like you do these days in ODI as if you were in a T20!!

If they are going to ban the captain for slow play, they England should send a someone to toss the coin who won't be missed in the team. Thinking about it, that's probably why Cooke's the captain Big Grin.

Eoin Morgan takes over as captain

England's lost another ODI test against Sri Lanka today.

Sri Lanka struggled to reach Englands total of 265(for 4) and only managed it with 2 balls to spare.

The result may have been different if Hales hadn't dropped a simple chance towards the end of the match bladewave

But England have today recovered to win the latest ODI by 5 wickets in a match played over 2 days due to rain and today being a reserve day. After bowling Sri Lanka out for 239 yesterday England recovered from the loss of two early wickets to claim a victory that keeps the series alive.
Joe Root scored an unbeaten 104 as England battled home with 5 balls left.

They actually batted very well for a change.
Just wished our bowlers could contain sangakara. He really is a class act.

England went down again today to Sri Lanka
It was a poor performance by all the team especially by England captain Alastair Cook. He dropped an easy chance and hit across a straight ball.
It could be that Alastair is dropped from the one day team as Peter Moores has stated that all positions are to be reviewed at the end of the series.

Sri Lanka got far too many runs on that pitch.
Cook with a crucial drop to boot.
Poor batting display all round.
Series lost.

Cook's position not only as captain but as a player in the team must be in doubt. His poor form with the bat is now affecting his fielding.

RE: Sri Lanka vs England 2014
Still one match to go and if England were to win it would give them a 3rd success in the series and losing 4-3 in Sri Lanka would actually be quite a respectable result. The conditions in Colombo look good for Sri Lanka though and England have lost 3 out of 3 ODIs here.
