that means by the time that the FIFA ethics committee finish their investigations, the FIFA brand will be littered with a mountain of bungs, scandal and corruption it would not be trusted to run football ever again and not only that it is likely of course that any new election will probably result in Septic being yet again the only name on the ballot paper as there will probably be not many clean, honest and credible candidates left to replace him!!

Now the acting UEFA president Angel Maria Villar, who is standing in for Platini while he's suspended, has been named as being under investigation for 'wrongdoing'

And this is where I suspect that the domino effect begins in football... once UEFA gets dragged into it and the investigation snowballs into a much wider corruption investigation then there is no hiding place for our FA possibly....? and could this threaten the very existence of football itself?

The case against Platini.

Having said he would vote for the US as 2022 World Cup hosts, he changed his mind and supported Qatar, a decision that forced football into an unprecedented rescheduling of the event, causing havoc for the European clubs and leagues he was meant to represent.

His son went to head up a Qatari sports kit company shortly afterwards - although Platini says that had nothing to do with how he voted.

He is being treated as "between a witness and a suspect" by the Swiss criminal authorities over a 2m Swiss francs payment he received from Blatter shortly before he voted for him to stay as president in 2011.

He asks us to believe the reason for a 9 year delay in that payment was because Fifa could not afford to pay him the money, despite the organisation enjoying multi-million pound profits at the time.

In any normal business there would be a written contract. Both parties were members of Fifa's executive committee and approved each year financial statements which were incorrect by 2m Swiss francs. That could be seen as a criminal falsification of the accounts.

A man who is now suspended from all football activity, along with the man he used to advise - Blatter.

You need to be nominated by 5 football associations and to have worked in football administration for at least 2 years.

Former Brazilian player Zico failed in his bid. He couldn't get the 5 nominations required.
