I think Prince Ali is the best hope, but I can't see anyone other than Shaikh Salman winning the election.

We should find out tomorrow who the next FIFA president will be.

Each federation gets a single vote, to be cast in a secret ballot, and a candidate must secure two-thirds of the overall vote in the first round to be declared as the winner.
If a two-thirds majority is not achieved in round one, a second round of voting will begin where a simple majority is needed to win
If it's still not conclusive the candidate with the fewest votes will drop out before a third round, with the process continuing in this fashion until one man has a simple majority.

Tokyo Sexwale withdrew from the contest for the FIFA presidency before the voting began today. This means the original 8 candidates are now reduced to 4. (There are 209 Fifa nations but Kuwait and Indonesia are currently barred from taking part, so there are 207 eligible voters).

Here are the results of the first ballot:

Sheikh Salman al-Khalifa - 85
Jerome Champagne - 7
Gianni Infantino - 88

I hope sheikh salman wins. The other guy was interpreter he doesn't have a clue apart from hosting champions league draws.

I'm backing Infantino. Being FIFA top man will give him the chance to show off his language skills, as he speaks Italian, French, German, English, and Spanish. I'm not convinced by the Sheikh as if he wins he will always get asked about human rights abuses in Bahrain.

Infantino won. Let's see what he does for the Fifa. Big step for him.

Infantino had a meeting last night with the CONCACAF and Oceania delegates in their Zurich hotel restaurant. I dion't know what's he's promised them but it's worked.
