Hope William B. Davis returns as the Cigarette Smoking Man, one of my favourite characters from the series.

I dunno if it's a good idea bringing it in back - I thought it ran out of steam after about the 5th or 6th series (can't quite remember - a little while after they made the first feature film but before Mulder got abducted and they brought in Terminator 2 guy - he actually perked it up a bit for a short while but I don't think it could be sustained; it didn't work imo making Scully the one who was the "believer".)

The pressure from fanboys for explanations and closure just led to over-tortuous plotting imo; it was much better when all the "conspiracy" stuff was all disconnected strands and set pieces that you couldn't quite work out how they might all piece together - his sister's disappearance, clones, the Bounty Hunter, the black oil etc etc. As soon they started to join them all up into One Great Big Plan the thing became much less interesting and fell apart imo.

Just my opinion but I just don't think makers of TV know when to leave things alone these days. I think it's economics - a promising idea for a couple of 25 episode series gets bloated out to 100 plus in search of syndication rights. Or - equally, something gets canned after 6 or 12 episodes just when you've started to invest in it.

Agree with you there M-L-L, the mystery was far better than the big reveal

Oh. hell yeah. should never have been took off. Dogget and Reyes were fine, they were never given a chance properly by so called fans. In the same way good episodes didn't finnish with the end season 5, 7 had some of the best episodes of all.
