I think that people think this is going to happen. If the conservatives don't get in then we will remain in the EU, when Corbyn clearly stated he was to carry on with Brexit.

^ Huge "expectation management" going on don't you think. This is the new regime's version of the dire warnings before the Referendum (and look what good those did them!) without any of the silly specifics (maybe they figure that was the part that got them in trouble before!)

The Tories seem to think the more often they mention not accepting a bad deal the more people will believe them with whatever they old crap they come back from the EU with. In two years time May will be back on these shores waving her bits of paper like Chamberlin (and NO I'm not suggesting anyone is Hitler in this ) claiming she got a good deal with any old spin. It'll be nothing that anyone hope for but they'll have their spin claiming it is.

Tories making big play about bad deals because they know they cannot get a good deal because they won't try to.

British politicians, inept, untrustworthy, liar's, self seeking, corruptable. Blair, Cameron, Osborne, etc, it doesn't matter which party wins the election. Until the system is changed, methinks the moneymen will rule.
