I read yesterday that the UK and EU DID agree a money deal which both sides were happy with!

we dont know and we prob wont know til the end deal. from the sounds of it at her press conference the northern ireland thing will be like it is now and UK and ireland will revert back to the old Common Travel Area that we had since 1923

all i can say if she can keep most of the financial services stuff and get a good customs union and single market access then 50 billion paid over say about 10 years would be a good deal

good to see if theres a log jam ring merkel and it seems to go away soon. EU knows not to piss off there paymaster in berlin

Theresa May has had talks with Swedish PM - no doubt there maybe was small talk of Sweden knocking Italy out of WC somewhere along the lines
I would say that there's every possibility the EU nott accept any more money from us and will raise their "divorce settlement "
I think if that happens we are crashing out of EU with no deal in place when talks expire

The UK are clearly grandstanding to try and get away with the measliest offer they can leave on the table, with the threat of walking off altogether if the EU won't give in.

The EU ain't that stupid, so the UK are going to either have to cave in, or walk off into oblivion.

Remember, the US will want a deal which suits the US - be fun to see Boris trying to argue that No Deal is somehow a good thing for the US (apart from making it easier for the US to take us to the cleaners).

I was listening to a political commentator on the news earlier today mentioning that the EU are trying to pull at Theresa May's purse strings as far as they can within reason as they believe if she cannot secure some sort of deal (& move onto the next stage ie trade talks) by March 2018 then May is a goner & the next Tory leader will not be as generous (or even offer fuck all).There is also murmurings that it's Germany & France (the main players) are the main stumbling blocks on progress & with Germany not having a formed government yet which is possibly one of the reasons for the stalling on progress.

Reading between the different stories I reckon the divorce bill settlement will probably be around the £40 billion which could quite easily be paid off if the various big businesses who are constantly in the government's ear (& many of them complaining about Brexit) actually pay their correct tax levels & not the token gestures & loopholes they constantly use.

I think May's job is safe until Brexit. Some of the more rabid Brexiteers actually want a no-deal Brexit so it suits them to leave May & co to fuck it up (helped by them undermining her).

Then, once we're out, one of them will step in and lead us to the promised land while still blaming May for the subsequent damage to the economy.

You big cynic. Next you'll be telling me Gove deliberately screwed Boris out of the leadership to prevent him being the boss of this mess, so that 16 months later they're best pals rather than sworn enemies.

So EU is threatening to not give us the 5 billion rebate they owe us until the money is sorted out and they keep going on about us paying what we owe them
