Colin Vearncombe aka Black (1962 - 2016) RIP

The English singer-songwriter Colin Vearncombe has died at the age of 53 following injuries sustained in a car crash two weeks ago.

He had a number of hits in the late 1980s under the name "Black". He had his first top 10 hit in 1986 with "Sweetest Smile" and the following year "Wonderful Life" became a huge hit all across Europe, eventually selling more than 2 million copies worldwide.

A sad end, but his hits will live on on Radio 2 forever. RIP

That's some group that God is assembling up there to be sure. RIP.

Damn that's a shock. Sweetest smile one of the best songs of the 80's one of only three albums I bought in 1987.

Just played Wonderful Life CD,good album,lovely voice

I listen to heavy music predominantly but,this guy had a brilliant voice.

My older sister had everything he did when were growing up and she played it constantly.Great memories.

So awful to loose someone so young and talented.

Very sad news, he had such a distinctive voice, wonderful life was one of the iconic songs of the eighties when I was growing up, January 2016 has definitely been a terrible month for the music industry that's for sure RIP.
