Go to any other country and have a look at there TV in comparison - BBC does so much good - Regional News and Radio, The World Service. High Quality Drama and Childrens TV - If the BBC were the same as ITV or god forbid Sky none of this would happen - Oh and whatever Party is in power always has a go at them as they don't tow the political line.

Yeah i want the BBC to stay because if the licenece fee is to go then whats stopping SKY from hiking up its prices and who will maintain the freeview network

War and Peace and the night manager was worth the money alone this year also liking the A word. they should concerntrate on stuff like that than crap like Strictly and the voice.

Would also love a netflix style service that is just for old bbc series and comedys.

If they had given Richard Madeley the proper full-time gig replacing Terry Wogan's show on Radio 2, I'd have voted No, and burnt the damn building down myself.

However they didn't, so I voted Yes.

Quite apart from the incredible value for money PLUS the bullet-proof chance to effectively boot Rupert Murdoch in the face.

Whatever failings the BBC have, and however many creepy scumbags they have employed and covered up for, and continue to employ - they're still not Rupert "I'm Australian, no wait I'm American to make more money, hell, I'll be Chinese next" Murdoch.

Leaving aside the right or wrongs of the BBC could someone please explain to me why anyone should be forced to pay the licence fee under penalty of imprisonment if they don,t.

I rather take the view the BBC can't please any of the political parties anyway.
No matter what they do they will probably be thought of as anti them and pro the other side.
To me the BBC has taken a kicking from whichever government of whichever persuasion has been in power none more so than by the Conservatives in recent years.
I am disapppointed at the BBC has been losing the rights to so many sporting events, the loss of BBC3 as a television channel and the impending threat of the loss of red button interactive services. I would be happy with the introduction of a higher licence fee if it helped in enabling the BBC to prevent losing rights galore and losing interactive television platforms.
